Kent's wangs are a great way to eat food. The precision of Kent's wangs will amaze you. Imagine picking up a single grain of rice with Kent's wangs. Incredible.

I do not know why people are saying these warp. The only reason I can think of would be they are putting these in a dish washer, which you should not do to wooden chopsticks anyways. ALWAYS hand wash them. They have a fantastic weight to them and can easily pick up items. Being unvarnished, you have to take care of them, but it also enhances their friction to pick up tricky food items. Highly recommended.

I just received my drop of the Kent Want chopsticks, and my spouse agrees with me that these are the most elegant chopsticks we've ever had. They feel great in the hand, and the tips look to be an ideal diameter. (I've found that many wooden sticks have overly large & clunky tips, while enameled or other finished sticks often are tiny.) Can't wait to have some friends over for Asian food to share the fun!

Color washed out - I'm seriously doubting that these are actually made from actual ebony wood - just dyed/stained some crap wood. Most warped after being exposed for a short time to water. I've got a fairly extensive collection of chopsticks, and these - without reservation - ended up being the greatest disappointment. I have cheap bamboo chopsticks that I would choose to use over these.
MichaelLogueSorry to hear about the warping, that shouldn't have happened. Email us at sales@kentwang.com and we'll send you replacements. We stand behind all our products. Some may experience color leeching out, which is just a natural pigment of the wood. It's completely harmless and we have these food certified by a testing agency. A simple test is to see if they sink in water. Dense hardwoods like ebony do. Sorry we didn't see your comment until now. Massdrop doesn't have a way to notify us of comments, and we've asked them to implement such a feature.

KentWangOutstanding reply from a company. I'm sold. I actually missed the drop but will be ordering a couple of pair at full price because of this.

One out of six pairs were not warped when I received the initial package. They are beautiful but we’re just warped. I contacted Kent Wang and they gladly sent replacements at no cost. The customer service was great, the only issue was that the replacements weren’t much better...

Updated: A sales associate from Kent Wang contacted me and sent the replacement without any hesitation. It took a little long as it was shipped by USPS, but the chopsticks are well packed inside. However, to my great surprise, four out of the six replaced chopsticks are bent. I have required Kent Wang to check the quality before shipping. My assumption and understanding is that it is too cold in Canada, and the chopsticks are really temperature sensitive, so you shouldn't keep them in cold, hot, or wet conditions for too long, otherwise they will shape. Add another star for their good customer service. Original post: Received my set today, I felt regret right away as half of them are not straight. I haven't use them. The finish is good, but half of them are bend to some extent. They are supposed to be a gift, but now turned to be useless. Not worth for long time waiting and the shipping fee to Canada.

These are quite "great". They really work well, are comfortable, except for the upper area. When I've used other chopsticks of this same style, there is always a little relief on the square edges. The ebony is exquisite. The workmanship is so exacting, however, that I may have to take some 1000 grit sandpaper to the sharp edges!

Heavy Duty, Well-Finished, and Ergonomic for Large Hands!
I was apprehensive about buying another Kent Wang product after my 'premium' folding umbrella completely fell apart after a year of light use...but now that I've had the Fox-branded version (nearly identical to it) for 2 years, perhaps my unit was a one-off. Nevertheless, these chopsticks are very well finished, having stood up to over a year to eating, travelling, and washing, are *very* heavy duty for being made of wood, oversized for all types of food, and thankfully, even large enough for my meaty claws. Best part? You've got 6 pairs to use as you keep misplacing them!

I would say these chopsticks are nice and feels heavy on hand, seem of high quality. But ONE MAJOR drawback. If you soak them in water for awhile (5-30 min) you can clearly see they exert colors into the water... I have other stuffs made of ebony wood so I know this is normal. However I cannot say I am confident that it is good for your body to take in all of those (natural) coloring..... I am surprised no one else in the review session seems to have mentioned it. I am Asian and you always wash new chopsticks with hot water... Now I just need to wash and soak them so they no longer produce colored water... Honestly they should have pre-washed them before shipping out to customers
DeathWatchYou're correct that the color is just a natural pigment of the wood. It's completely harmless and we have these food certified by a testing agency. Also, just as a simple intuitive thought exercise: how many woods excrete toxic substances? Woods are generally food safe.
Pre-washing is not really practical because after one wash, over the course of months while the chopsticks are in transport or stored at our warehouse, the pigment may once again flow from the inside of the wood to the outside.
DeathWatchIsn't soaking any lightly finished wood just begging for warping/rotting over time?
