I really like this keyboard, and it's an amazing value for $90 - bluetooth, hotswap sockets, good layout. The build quality is solid and it has a nice simple appearance. There are some annoying problems with it though:
The software is really hard to use, and only works when it's plugged in with USB
There is no information provided whatsoever about the layout or function keys - I keep having to come back to this review page to see what the functions do (Also: Fn+M swaps the Alt & Start buttons, which is never mentioned anywhere)
I ordered the keyboard with what I thought were Gateron Clear tactile switches, but I ended up recieving clicky White switches (I was refunded $15 from Drop, but that barely covers the price of shipping for new switches)
The plastic creaks when you pick up or grab the keyboard (it's a tiny thing but it's worth noting)
The caps lock can be remapped to control, but the light under the caps button still toggles on and off
These are annoying sometimes, but in general the keyboard is still really enjoyable and looks great.
This is a great keyboard. I ordered with Box Brown, but easily switched to Gateron Blue and they sound great too. Haven't tried the Bluetooth as I use this keyboard with a switch.
Thanks to those out here who translated the instructions for the keyboard. That's the only reason for a 4 and not a 5 star.
The keyboard feels fantastic, looks great, and comes with everything I would have expected and more for such a cheap price. The features of this board rival that of board 2-3x the price.
My main gripe is the lack of English supporting materials, such as a manual. Some folks have done a great job translating it and detailing all the various functions here on Drop in discussions, though. Without that, I would have been absolutely lost.
A relatively minor issue with this board is its lack of configurability on MacOS -- the software only seems to work on Windows. On top of that, the software is clunky even if it's functional.
Finally, I'm not a huge fan of the tilde (~`) key being on the right, but I knew that going in, so I wouldn't detract based on that.
This was a great starter board for us and was quickly stolen by the wife. She loves the feel and sound of the keyboard. The various RGB modes are fantastic and overall it feels very sturdy. One star deducted because the bluetooth seems to act up occasionally and I haven't concluded whether its the computer or the keyboard.
surprised at the great quality given it's affordability
I was first pleasantly surprised at the quality of the board, I thought it would be really flimsy but it's got a great sturdiness to it (if that's what you want in a keyboard). Despite the lack of translatable instructions, the discussion chat helped me connect it to my mac wirelessly in about 20 seconds which was also great. Overall super easy to set up, clean design plus a good range of rgb functions. The only thing I can complain about for the sake of complaining is the slight wait of the delivery which couldn't be helped due to covid which took about 3 weeks.
The box reds it came with were a bit too mushy for me so I had them replaced with dragonfruit switches. Also had the stabs replaced. Types like a dream. I just wish there was an English manual.
No manual as other said and mine stopped working on second day. I am returning this keyboard.
If you are looking a keyboard that only works for one day, this maybe for you.
This is an excellent starter keyboard. I just purchased it for myself. Keys are easily hot-swappable and not "jammed" in as I have seen with other similar keyboards. They have the perfect amount of give/kickback as well. I ordered the white with the intention that it would look good with other keys when swapped out which they do!
The given instructions are all in Chinese, so I have been unable to further look into the product. That is my only downside; however, it does not affect the excellent product quality.
