Kizer Uli Hennicke T1 S35VN Folding Knife

The Kizer T1 is designer Uli Hennicke’s vision for a simple and robust all-purpose knife. Offering a wide 3.25-inch blade made from impressive edge-holding S35VN stainless steel, the T1 can hold its own through taxing cuts. The contoured frame lock handle is made from 6AL4V titanium for strength and durability. It even has a titanium backspacer to hold the scales together. An all-around gray knife, the T1 won’t draw too much attention, but flip it open with the thumbstud and it’s near impossible not to be impressed with its construction.

Developed by Crucible Industries (one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry) and Chris Reeve (pioneer of the integral frame lock, featured on the Gent), S35VN is perhaps the most balanced blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. It’s made through a process known as Crucible Powdered Metallurgy, which results in near perfect consistency in the distribution of carbides. Compared to conventional melting practices, the CPM process produces a steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness.
