A gift for dad or a handy on-the-go tool, the Lumintop Ant Keychain Flashlight is a handsome and powerful light that maximizes size-to-performance ratio. At just under 3 inches long, the Ant is small and mighty, like its name implies Read More
Massdrop should NOT even be offering this until the major defects are fixed, a warranty is enabled, and previous purchasers should get a discount or replacement for the embarrassent of the original.
According to the reviews, there is no warranty (at least from Lumintop) on these lights, and a 1-2 week lifespan for the switch was reported a few times. Is that correct on the warranty?
This one jumps the shark on the truly obscene shipping front, nearly twice the price of the torch for shipping to AU. I have not bought in a while now from massdrop and it seems its now impossible to justify a purchase with this shipping policy.
ObioneJZThey have reached a new height on this one, its truly ridiculous shipping, BTW you can buy this on Ebay in brass for $42.59 which is extortionate as always for lumintop on ebay but still cheaper than this drop
SpecialEdAluminum models in different colors would be nice. I’ve had the SS model for a while and probably will pick up this brass one.
The slot in the tailcap is meant for a small tritium vial...
I really wish that there was a straight to off with this light. I like that it is L-M-H, but I don't want to have to go through the high levels if I just needed a little bit of light. That's my only, but IMO, serious gripe with this light.
I would stay far away from Lumintop. I purchased their Tool-Ti model (which isn't a particularly inexpensive torch) and it's been nothing but trouble. You have to bang on it to get it to work like a cheap dollar store flashlight.
M.a.vOne bad experience with a device does not condemn the whole productline and company. That’s a bit over-reacting. That flies in the face of the thousands that have purchased MD/LuminTop lights over the years that have never had issues which includes me.
It’s fine to share a disappointing experience with a single product. I’ve done it myself. But declarations like “Never buy from this company” are reactionary and inflammatory. As others have reported, MD & LuminTop have been quite responsive to product failures. Have you even attempted to seek a repair/replacement? 🤔
M.a.vSounds like you got a lemon. Have you tried RMA or warranty replacement?
Sure, they're not Surefire weapon lights, but for a tiny AAA-size pocket light, the Lumintops (including CountyComm's builds of them) have been pretty solid, in my experience. I've got one of the CountyComm twisty-lights, and a pair of the Massdrop model Tools (one copper, one Ti).
Haven't used the standard-model Tool, just the one with the Massdrop clicky-switch, but your Tool-Ti should have the same clicky switch with the internal battery. Could just be a defective switch, or a mangled internal spring causing a flaky connection.
