Welp, it looks like my PC can't drive them. If you have a problem with it sounding "muffled" or very wierd bass, you need amplifier.

PrzecinekAlmost anything can drive these. Remove the foam disk covering the driver. You will hear the open sound, detail and bass these headphones can deliver. These sound stunning on my V30 phone with the disks removed.

Red_LeaderI'm going to try that, thanks. From what I've read about that phone, its sound is probably far beyond the sound of his computer.

DarrylGSometimes I add the disks back in depending on what I listen to. I'm going to try different materials for the disks to see what difference it makes. The removable disks on these headphones make them easy to tune. I have an idea for some experimental disks; a thin sheet of plastic (mylar possibly), thin enough to be transparent to the bass, but block the highs, then add pinholes until the treble is just right. Fabric or foam disks seem to absorb the bass in these headphones somehow.

Red_LeaderI tried it, and it does make a big difference in detail, and especially bass definition. I also started wondering if the foam could be replaced with a material that's more transparent to sound, but only because I don't like the idea of the speaker elements being uncovered, lol.

PrzecinekI'm sure I left a response to this yesterday, it it seems to have disappeared. One more time: If you want to get some extra volume for these headphones, you can try downloading and installing EqualizerAPO and Peace GUI. The former is a system-wide equalizer for Windows, and the latter is an interface that makes EqualizerAPO easier to use. It has a preamp function that goes beyond the maximum Windows volume. It'll eventually start clipping and distorting when you turn it up too high, and I don't know what "too high" would be for you, but it's worth a try, I think.

DarrylGThat's how I feel too lol. I don't like the drivers being exposed. For now I'm just stuffing the foam disks back in after listening, until I find another material that will work.

Red_Leader(Might be double, i don't see my answer here) So, I had my old HiFi system, and when i pass sound through it, they sound phenomenal! Still, i tried going back few times, with same effect. My Pc and phone (Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro) simply can't drive them. But I'll try removing that disk, we will see what happens. Thanks for the answer tho!

PrzecinekI pulled my old Panasonic CD player and digitally amplified receiver out of a closet and tried the M220 with them, and they sounded horrible. I never used headphones with the receiver, so I don't know if the electronics in it have deteriorated, or if it was just built with an inferior headphone output. At some point, I'll get around to dragging a speaker out of the closet and hooking it up to see if the receiver is still good.
