Picked up my package at the post office yesterday. Massdrop sent them out Sept 16th, arrived in Germany for transit Sept 20th, arrived in Indonesia Sept 30th...not bad...but had to wait over the weekend till Monday (Oct 3) before I can pick it up. So far the HE350 sounds pretty good, swapped the pads with focus pads at first but found that Brainwavz angled pads sounds superior, punchy bass, tamed highs. Not bad at all for $115 plus tax. HE400i lite? I actually prefer these without a headphone amp, the sound straight out of DAPs or phones sounds great. When using an amp I actually found them too loud, the drivers straining and sounding over-boosted to the point of almost clipping. Maybe because of the 19 ohm impedance?

dimensi_idthat shouldn't mean they sound bad out of an amp. they sound bad out of an amp with a high output impedence. you should hear an improvement out of a good amp with an output impedence of 2 or less.

UzuzuI'm just happy that the HE350 sounds great without amps...it's my go to cans for lazy listening sessions now. Just plug in to my iPhone and enjoy... BTW, I've tried using small portable amps that I have like iBasso DZero...very minor improvement even on low gain settings. On a recent mini meet, I did find out that some Android phones cannot drive the HE350 properly, even at max volume...so in these cases...an amp with the right output impedance settings will help.

UzuzuStill very happy using the HE350 without an amp...yay! BTW, I know most of you are switching to Brainwavz angled pads...I actually prefer Hifiman focus pads. Angled pads sound a bit hollow (especially in the mids) and muffle the top end a bit too much ...almost like the drivers are too far away from your ears. Angled pads are my fave pads for the HE400, but not the best choice for the HE350. Focus pads give you a more energetic presentation and awesome mids but lacks bass punch, also the highs are a tad bit too aggressive. I ordered a pair of Denon Pads and they sound amazing on the HE350! Perfect! Punchy bass, nice mids and IMO gives you just the right amount of highs...dynamics are just as good as angled pads. https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-AH-D2000-AH-D5000-AH-D7000-Headphones/dp/B00UBRVSNA

dimensi_idHow well does your ear fit inside? It is all preference, but I hate pads that press on my ears.

TheChrisAgeNo problems with fitting and comfort for me..the Denon pads are even more comfy than angled pads.

dimensi_idFor my ears/head, I don't like the angled pads. Thank you. I added them to my Amazon wishlist. Now I'll go back and forth on whether or not to buy them for a day or so, then say, "screw it, they're only $20." Then I'll buy them.

TheChrisAgeAfter looking at the Dekoni DT770 pads on esmBOS posts...they're likely more comfortable for large ears. http://dekoniaudio.com/standard-series/

dimensi_idI like mine with the Little Dot MKIII tube amp ( which happens to be on Massdrop right now, but I have had mine for years). It is amp dependent, though. I have also tried them with the Heed Canamp and it isn't a good match.

jksantosoI'm in Surabaya...I had to pay customs Rp. 202.000 plus Rp. 20.000 (handling fee). A friend in Jakarta had to pay Rp. 270.000. So it depends on the customs appraisal of the goods.

dimensi_idHow do the Denon pads fit on the ring brackets? The Brainwavz are super tight, and I've cracked one, so I'm afraid I'll break it if I try to fit on the Denons and they're just as tight (or more so).

HawaiiRThe Denon pads are the exact same size as Hifiman pads...so you will have no probs with fitting...the rings just slide in with ease. Enjoy!

dimensi_idDid you print the rings yourself? Or is there a service that does that? Hoping I don't snap mine, but just in case ...
