Yaks are pretty incredible creatures. To survive high in the mountains, where temperatures dip to 40 below, they’ve developed long, coarse hair and a soft down undercoat for extra insulation Read More
Received the red hat before Christmas. The deep color is nice and it’s super toasty. My wife’s head is on the small side, but she made me wear it a bit to stretch it out. Runs pretty small. That said, it wasn’t really uncomfortable for me and it did stretch out pretty well.
Edit: I purchased the gray neck warmer.
A few weeks in and I’ve used it a few times.
It’s warm enough, and very soft. I’m pretty thin and it kind of chokes my neck. After a few soaks in cold water, i noticed some irregularities on the bottom hem, as if a lot of fibers had simply fallen off.
I was was expecting some higher quality from this product, but it does its job. I don’t expect it to last long.
tldr: soft but also a bit tight and somewhat flimsy. Good to keep on your neck.
I got the red neck warmer and the first time I put it on the seam on one edge split in 4 places. I knit and crochet and this is poor craftsmanship. Since this is as knit it will continue to fall apart as the thread pulls out. I may be able to sew the fraying wool ends to keep them from completely unraveling, but frankly this should not happen if you know how to setup a knitting machine to give enough slack on the starting/ending line. I love the colour and the wool feels great, but this neck warmer's days are numbered and I only just got it. It feels like the stitching on the side that split is so tight that it will split again with little effort; lame.
This is a well-crafted beanie, I've been using it along with others for the past two years and it still looks brand new so I'm not sure about the legitimacy of the other reviews down here. I agree with the majority of the people who have highlighted how this isn't great in the wind: it's certainly not New England proof. However, it is slim and dries quite quickly. I have a small to medium-sized head so if you have a large nogging just get a Patagonia or Carharrt. Recommended for people who wear beanies indoors.
