Excellence Sweater I made the mistake of washing it and it shrunk so I just had to order a new one. Did a hike Apple elevation trail and it kept me warm.

Very nice quality at an excellent price! One of the softest sweaters I have, feels like cashmere. VERY warm too! I wish it came in better colors, and without the silly stripes across the chest, but it's still excellent.

I am about 183cm/6 feet tall and I weigh around 90kg and I usually wear size L clothes so I ordered the sweater also in size L. It fits nice but arm length could be a bit shorter but I usually pull them up anyways. Material is very soft and does not make me itch. It pills a bit but it's comparable to my other pure wool products so no complaints there but I would personally add a bit of lycra to the mix.
I have washed it once inside a washing bag using a wool washing program and mild soap made for wool products and I put the temperature to 20C. No problems after washing and looks good as new. So it is possible to wash it in a washing machine without adverse effects.

Shrunk to a baby size after first machine wash even thought was washed according the label.
The MD customer service takes no responsibility for this defective product .
From now and on the MD is the last place for me to buy from.

Sergey93Did the same thing a couple of months ago. Never got any reply. No answer to direct emails also. After this incident I will never recommend or purchase items categorised as "made by massdrop". In fact, I'm already not buying from them any more at all.

It seems that every year when Fall turns, I treat myself to a new sweater to abuse throughout the ski season. So Yak is the new "it" wool, eh? OK, I'll bite, as this seems a very competitive price for the Yak. Fits as I would expect a Medium to fit. It's as soft if not softer than any Merino sweater I've had. It's of that looser, lighter weave that more necessitates an outer layer in the wind. I've spent the last 3 days in our newly fallen Sierra snow going slowly up and rapidly down in luxurious comfort. I have not made any scientific evaluations, but damn if it doesn't seem warmer than pure Merino of similar weight. It, of course, is also particularly impervious to my stink. It does not seem rugged enough that I would want to climb in it and I am curious how much the bugs like Yak and how much it will pill...time will tell.
**Edit: Oh yeah is it pilling. Easily remidied, but this is some serious pilling.

Beautiful material, horrible shrinkage
I can't recommend this product. Its absolutely gorgeous and as soft as a lamb, but even after following the wash and care instructions to the letter - TO THE LETTER - my XXL example shrank to a small child's size. Seriously, I'm 6' 1 '' and broad shouldered and I can't get it over my chest. I might give it to s small child to wear, someone around 5th grade, maybe younger, because in all honesty this sweater is now totally unusable to me. I just can't recommend wasting money on a product that is unusable and essentially worthless despite being cared for as the instructions indicate.

Full disclosures: I was a Kickstarter backer of Peak-to-Plateau's Yak wool baselayers. I have other merino wool sweaters and baselayers.
I've had the Massdrop x Peak-to-Plateau Yakino wool sweater for a couple months now. It is warm, soft, and lightweight. I have no trouble wearing it over just a T-shirt, and it keeps me warm enough for Pacific Northwest winters with nothing else but a waterproof-breathable shell. That is all quite satisfactory.
The colors are a bit darker in real life than in the photos on Massdrop. I don't particularly mind, they're still fine for me.
The fit is ever-so-slightly longer than I expected in both the arms and the torso, but not so long that it's uncomfortable. The cuffs and waist have not stretched out significantly.
What I mind most about the sweater is that, as other reviewers have mentioned, it pills considerably. I have not put it through the wash, nor through any particularly rough activity ... just, well, worn it. Most of the pilling is in the front from mid-torso down; some is at the armpits. There's so much pilling, I'm getting tired of all the pilling.
Most of my other merino wool sweaters are not as prone to pilling. For the price, I would expect there to be less pilling due to normal wear; it's no longer . That is the rather unsatisfactory part for me.

Worm, soft and nice. But lost it's shape a little. It becam a little to floffy. Now after wearing it for a month, I'm very disappointed. Hundreds balls of wool covering the sweater, and an holl appeared on the right sleeve.

Great if it didn't shrink
I got to wear this for a weekend of outdoor camping in freezing weather and it was great! However, I followed the washing instructions afterwards, using cold water on a delicate cycle followed by line drying, and the sweatshirt shrunk so much that it became unwearable.
