turbineseaplaneI didn't buy through the drop and I was a bit iffy about the Ergo Pro even though I was impressed with it at the same time.
I've come to really like it. I still use my Ergodox mostly, but the Ergodox is so thumb heavy that my thumbs tire out and I need to use something that allows to me relax my thumbs a bit. The Ergo Pro does that for me. The modifier keys are ridiculously oversized to allow you to press it with the edge of your palm so I can do that instead of holding down a modifier key with my thumb.
I still have problems with keys double or triple actuating. Some switches just are prone to doing that, but it's pretty easy to fix. Removing the keycap and putting to back on seems to rattle the switch enough to reset it.

Alright, I just joined. I hope that the off-gassing doesn't take that long to go away. I really don't like that. I'll have to do a side-by-side comparison with my ErgoDox and my Kinesis Freestyle 2 (with tenting!)-

lo57I'm using one of the samples and the smell was gone within an hour or so I feel like. Really comfortable to type on.

I own one of these and it's amazing. Been looking for a reason to pick up a second one for the office. On OS X it's trivial to remap some of the keys with Karabiner, like making the right control key an escape key, the caps lock into a control key. NBD. When the USB port on the right half flaked out (not sure why, was moving and may have left the cord in) they shipped me a replacement right away. Nice folks

I was interested to see this, as I'm always looking for a split keyboard with mechanical switches- I have two ergodox and absolutely love my Kinesis Freestyle2s- but after seeing the list of offenses for this drop (price the same as other sites, chemical off-gassing smell, quality control issues) - I think I'll pass. Anyone who has one care to comment to the contrary regarding the negative comments I'm seeing here? I *want* to try another split keyboard, because I enjoy them so much, but can't bring myself to do it without some testimonials...

100% agree. I have zero need for cut/copy/paste stand-alone keys. It's an absolute waste of keys.
