So would these be an upgrade to the caps that came with my Ducky Shine, or is to be thought of more like an equivalent replacement set in terms of quality?

ultraconsumerAt this point, it would be more of a sidegrade than an upgrade. Try to get PBT keycaps, it's one of the hardest and most durable plastic for keycaps.

ultraconsumerIt will give your keyboard a different look. The Max keycaps are completely translucent while the Ducky keycaps only allow light through on the letters. Check out this picture

ultraconsumerI'm also buying them for my Ducky Shine 3. I think the translucence part of them will look amazing with the lightshow in these Duckies, but as far as quality I don't know. For the price I would assume they are good quality and they have all-positive reviews on Amazon.
