This is a very pretty, very small gentleman's folder from Japan. Good: Attractive. Scales are lovely. Damascus is extremely pretty. Overall profile is good. Well made. Fit and finish on mine is pretty good. Surfaces mesh pretty seamlessly, no obvious blemishes or inconsistencies, blade centering is good. Fills its role well. Perfect size and shape and materials for a non-threatening gentleman's folder. This is not going to raise any eyebrows. Bad: No pocket clip. Lock bar access kinda sucks. Lock bar lockup is a tad inconsistent, though not dangerous or irritating. (this is a super minor issue on mine) This is a Japanese folding knife from a Japanese company from the Japanese hub of Seki City. This means that It is a little too expensive. It is vg-10 blade steel. It is on teflon/nylon washers. tl;dr I like it, and I think it is probably worth it at a buck twenty simply because there aren't many modern folders that look and feel this good out there. Mcusta has had it's QC quirks for sure, so keep that in mind, but I still recommend it.

I got the ebony scales. It is a very fine gentleman's knife. The one negative is the use of VG-10 but the beauty of the Damascus treatment easily makes up for that. I would pick up a second one if it was in M390 or even S35VN.

This is a very pretty, and retro-Japanese-looking knife, however it is a very delicate piece and not in line with MY typical EDC pocketknife preferences. (I usually carry Benchmade folders).
The Tsuchi Dmascus fits very small in the hand, and the blade metal is so nice looking that my inclination would be to not use it for EDC - my knives cut a lot, get dulled down, and put through the mill in as gentle a way as possible to get the job done. The blade strikes me as very thin in comparison to my regular EDC blades. My first impression was "wow this is small", followed by "this is not practical (for my purposes)", and "wow this is a work of art".
If I had seen this blade in a showroom and got it in my hands prior to purchasing I would have immediately put it down and not bought it. It looked perfect on the Massdrop website, but the zoomed-in pictures did not convey the size well enough for me.
The knife is beautiful and may indeed hold up to rigorous use. But for me in the "looks" department it is so high I decided that I didn't want to carry it and have any inkling of worry about keeping it looking super nice for the long-term.
I gave the knife to my wife, where it was appreciated when she first saw it, but she won't likely ever use it.
