I made the poll for this keyboard to allow people to get a taste for mechanical keyboards but i HAVE to agree that $33.50 shipping is HORRENDOUS.
Still it is still cheaper then buying one over here in the UK with the shipping added on. but it is still way too over top with the shipping price.

vlee498Same feeling. It's just too hard to get a US-Layout in Europe. The only place I found is the keyboard company UK. They sell filco for about 120 pounds with 25pounds shipping to Ireland. That's close to 3 times the cost of this one with shipping. (although the product is totally different, but I'm not using for gaming, I guess both are mx blue, therefore no difference to me)

vlee498Let's say I want to mail you this keyboard.
So this keyboard weighs about 2.8lbs, and it's 18.20 x 6 x 1.25 inches, about. Assume 3.5lbs shipping weight as a rough guess to allow for boxes and padding, and we'll make up the dimensions 20 x 8 x 4 for the package. USPS's cheapest option possible to send this package to the UK is 31.73 if I print my postage online, for first class international. I can't look up business rates for UPS/FedEx, but the user rates are 150+ for both of them, so we aren't going to do that.
Basically, that IS what it costs to ship internationally from the US to overseas. It's not cheap. Massdrop isn't gouging you, it just really is that expensive. Does it suck? Absolutely. Is it avoidable? Not really.
I guess maybe I'm jaded on postal costs from a previous hobby. I collected asian ball-jointed dolls for a while and got pretty used to 50-60 dollar EMS charges... XD
