I'm aware of Massdrop's no return policy so I definitely did my research before spending $130 on a keyboard. Nowhere in this description/comments section or anywhere else I found did I see that the wireless does not support backlighting.
I haven't even figured out the dimming (when plugged in) yet, so I'm hoping that the wireless backlight is still possible.

SmaptiIt is truly a shame that the keyboard backlighting does not work without it being plugged in. I would have guessed it would be possible as there was no information on the page that said otherwise. As the main selling point of this keyboard is its wireless capability it seems absolutely out of place that certain features do not work when it is in wireless mode.

Sid_VYou seem to not have a grasp of how batteries work. Do you want a backlight, or battery life? If you turn the backlight on, the thing will probably only hold a charge for a few hours.
