NimbusriderI've got various international short converters and they all seem to fit well.

Could you cite a specific converter brand and model that works? I just bought a Lamy Z26 as an attempt to obtain a "standard international converter" and sadly it doesn't fit the OHTO Dude.

If anyone was interested in the purple one, I just bough the Blue($9.50) and Purple($17.44) on Amazon prime $26.94.
E.T.A. Looks like some people bought some, prices went up for blue pen, price went down for purple but it's no longer prime.

What kind of converter works best with these pens? I've tried a couple versions of international converters. The barrel of one was too thick to go into the barrel of the pen and the opening of another was too wide.

Probably the most standard of standard international converters would have to be the Schmidt K5 Converter, since many pen manufacturer's use rebranded Schimdt K5s as their own brand's standard converter.
I've seen at least one user report that says a K5 worked with their OHTO Dude.
@DSpaceNine - no surprise the Lamy Z26 didn't work since Lamy converters are proprietary and only intended to fit their own pens.

jakehawkenDepends on location. Amazon won't ship a lot of things to Australia, so for me and the rest of the world, a lot of these drops are great. Not everyone has access Amazon or prime, and shipping from Goulet or Jetpens?? Costs over $30us just for a pen to Australia .................

i've got one. the ohto dude also takes international long cartridges, or you can put a spare short cartridge inside the body. in my experience it's a very wet writer, not scratchy at all, and despite being japanese, the fine writes more like a medium. but for the price, it's a nice hefty metal pen that feels good in the hand.

Mine arrived a few weeks ago. One for myself and I gave the other to a friend. After an initial warm water flush both wrote well directly out of the box- Both are very smooth with good ink flow - not too wet or dry. Very happy with it. I use a standard converter with mine and it works well. My friend takes hers to work, and there is room in the barrel to carry a spare cartridge. I hope to see this drop again, these will make nice holiday gifts :)

I picked one of these up on amazon a while back. Nice pen with a good weighty feel. The only issue I had was I tightened it too much and the threads, which are attached to the feed collar under the grip, started to pull through. I was a novice pen owner at the time and really cranked it down, so just be a little more careful with yours.

P.reeFor anyone still interested in an answer to this:
" The nib and feed are standard friction-fit #5s, so can be easily replaced if you want something more exotic or a different size. "

Just a standard converter like this one: https://www.jetpens.com/Kaweco-Standard-Fountain-Pen-Converter-Gun-Metal/pd/10585
an an international converter should fit though.
