Despite this player seems to have some good reviews (from 2017, mind you), if you check out the fine print below, Massdrop (oh, sorry - Drop) once again is offering an item for sale with NO MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. This means that if anything goes wrong with this item AFTER Drop's standard 30 day return policy, you're screwed! Trust me, I've been down that road with MD in the past. It wasn't pretty! (This DAP is made in Korea in case you're wondering.) If none of this, or some of the commentary below, doesn't convince you otherwise, then feel free to send in your order.

bgpolyhistorHi bgpolyhistor, I rarely look in here, but I saw this and felt I should answer you. Whenever you see a product for sale on Drop like this listing - https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-beyerdynamic-dt177x-go-headphones/details#details When you go down to the details section, as in this one, it says in the included section "1 year warranty" which means that Drop and the manufacturer are selling the item with a warranty included. For MANY foreign products, such as this: https://drop.com/buy/cayin-n3pro and you gown down to the details under included you see only this: Included: Leather case -- and nothing else. This indicates that no warranty is provided for this device other than Drop's standard 30 Day Return policy. This means that, say, the item is normally sold with a 1 year warranty included. In the Drop version, to get the price down, Drop and the manufacturer eliminate the manufacturer's warranty. This means that if ANYTHING goes wrong with the unit after 30 days, Drop will simply tell you to buzz off! That is what I was referring to by "small print" - which is really no print at all. This happened to me with Drop and a SMSL SU-8 DAC I purchased from them. It literally died 5 days after the 30 days had elapsed and when I contacted Drop, they said sorry, there's nothing we can do about it! End of story.
  • Hope this helps.

rfmusic4lifeI ended up purchasing the Opus 2 a while back. Defective battery. I contacted drop just before the end of the return period and was able to get a full refund. It was disappointing- the UI was a bit unrefined but man it did sound very good.
