Product Description
A relaunch of the Pelikan M120 first introduced in 1955, the limited-edition M120N features the shape and color scheme of the original, along with the company’s signature piston filling mechanism. Slightly longer than the M120, this new, collection-worthy model differs in another small detail: An engraving on the gold-plated stainless steel nib reinterprets a curlicue found on a Pelikan price list from 1889 Read More

It's too bad they're not offering XF. Fine is still too wide for my writing. Hey Drop, when will you offer this with XF again?

Have your Fine nib ground to a cursive italic. Problem solved. :)

Thanks but a couple of problems with that. First, once you do that it will be more difficult to resell later if you choose to. Second, that would mean spending more money and effort. I can easily go buy a XF version fo this pen on eBay for about $35 more. At $145, I already think Pelikan way overpriced this thing at the retail level. I still remember Pelikan steel nib pens selling for below $100. So I'm not about throw more money down. Just sayin...

Depends on how small you write. If you write small, get the fine.

Confirmed. I have very fine handwriting, so I always get an extra-fine nib. I can't write on regular notebook paper at all, any bleed and I just have a smudge.

I purchased this in Blue from EndlessPens for $120 PLUS a 10% discount, I'm willing to wait a little. They don't have any green so I think I'll pick this up, I got a Fine nib for the Blue one, should I go with a M nib for this one and I can swap them out if need be? I don't want to damage the nibs

Easy to swap. Just twist off like a light bulb.

I remember my dad was using this pen. I bought it 2 years ago from cultpens and I love it. It is steel nib but it is much better than many gold nib pens. This pen made me a Pelikan fan.

Pelikan M120N Green Black Special Edition. I purchased this mainly because of nostalgia. My grandmother gave me my very first fountain pen, the Pelikan 120 original, in the late 50s which she bought on a visit to Germany. This new edition is so light but write beautifully smoothly and I am very pleased with it. Advertised on Massdrop as including presentation box and soft carry pouch. Unfortunately neither of these items appeared and it was delivered in a thin cardboard tube. However, as I say, the pen is lovely.

If you are a collector and/or really like this in green, this is a good deal, since these are starting to become harder to find in the wild (personally, I think the blue that is now out looks a bit nicer but this is a personal preference thing). The fact that you are going to have a bit of trouble finding this new from an authorized dealer makes the gray market nature of the buy less of a problem (a reason I normally avoid Massdrop on Pelikan pens), since if your other option is second hand, you are going to be mostly in the same boat in terms of service if there is an issue later.

Just an FYI to Massdrop, offered in good cheer: nice pen, decent price. I would be tempted, but I only use XF. Maybe next time?

I approve of this drop. This is a real fountain pen. If you’re a first time purchaser, you won’t be disappointed (or be taken advantage of) should you decide to join the drop.
