Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

For what it's worth, I was in on the first Fidelio L1 drop. The first headphone I received had some weird surface blemishes on the aluminum. Massdrop promptly replaced it, but the replacement had issues with the mic cable that cause the drivers to not be grounded (causing it to sound horrible). They didn't have another replacement, so they sent me the sample unit they had in house that they tested and used for the pictures. I chose their sample unit, which while it wasn't technically new, it was perfectly fine, and has worked well with no issues for me.
I'm on the fence about this deal since I really don't have much use for a completely open back set of cans, but the general good reviews make me want to listen to it. I'd not have any hesitation that if there were an issue that Massdrop wouldn't do their best to get you a good unit or a refund.
I don't have the money for that amp, and I'm happy with the output direct from my phone. For me, in my office, the semi open/closed L1 is great, and I'd like the L2 due to others saying it's less dark, with better mids and treble, which is what I need.
I'm curious how it determines your profile, and if you'd have the same profile over multiple different headphones. Either way, I may just have to jump on that instead of yet another pair of headphones.
It'd be great if that technology could be built into the phone itself.
