"blade has an extended tang, along with a false top edge and blood groove to keep it light, strong, and well balanced" THAT is definitely NOT what is pictured...JS. and at 11 bucks PLUS almost 3 bucks shipping.. this is not a good deal ,can get them all day long for 11-12 with free shipping elsewhere.
bambam67Exactly. The description is for the stiletto pic I uploaded. They posted the wrong text. They're apparently unaware there are two RR knives with the same name.

That's enough to get me interested. That's not enough to get me to buy.
Particularly with the vague description and apparent discrepancy between models.
If you search for "Rough Rider stiletto" a completely different knife comes up everywhere else. The knife on Drop isn't a stiletto, more of a drop point. The RR1858 comes in two sizes, a tall man (4" blade) and the giant man (5.75" blade). It's also a flipper, not a thumbstud opening.
rschuchactually on ebay and amazon i get both styles with the search. i would prefer the REAL stiletto style blade than what is pictured..and the prices range from 11-14 so i dont see the deal here.
Everywhere else I checked list this knife as having 440A not 420hc.
RR knives that I have ever checked out always had 440A. I just wondering if this is really 440A
The button for opening is too small to pickup the use intuitively but you will get used to it, with a moderate break-in period it will become easier to open the knife one handed. The blade sharpness was mediocre out of the box but it sharpened quite well on my fallkniven stone and has continued to hold a fantastic edge with little maintenance. I find it to be a decent length and acceptable rigidity to use it in a work knife capacity.
It is now my current EDC considering price and required conditions. I will be purchasing another if the next drop comes at an opportune time.
