55.5 ohms for an IEM? Do these need decent amps to run or can a phone push em?
I don't think these need an amp. The Soundmagic E50 have an impedance of about 51 ohms, and they run on my phone just fine.
The first rule of audiophilia is that you always need a dedicated amp, preferably a tube amp, and also a DAC. Anything else is guaranteed to sound terrible to discerning ears.
Forgot to mention Tube Amps color the sound.
I have an IFI micro Idsd and just got a styleaudio topaz and a racoon sg 300. I was just wondering tbh.
Golden ears know nothing of your physics! Harmonic distortion is undoubtedly a myth created by people that want to put honest companies out of business.
Beacause the best way to make 50 dollar IEM's shine is a 50,000 dollar amp.
Only if it's using unobtanium-plated interconnects, capacitors, op-amps, etc. The cheaper amps can reduce the soundstage.
a clipzip can power them just fine, they are actually easier to drive then cheap 8-16 ohm garbage from dollartree...
my note3 has no problem, my d2+ no problem clipzip(rockboxed), ipod classic(rockboxed) sansa c3...all power them fine can make my ears ring infact :P
