The name of the company behind these sleek pens, Tactile Turn, reveals much of their charm. To deploy the pen tip, press the stainless steel button and feel the satisfying bolt-action mechanism slide the tip into place—it’s a truly addictive way to open and close a pen Read More
Quite nice for an EDC pen. It’s a bit on fat side considering Parker style refill. The CNC quality is top notch though. I had trouble finding the seam to open it up until reading the review.
UrbanDadCarryOnly the bolt action pens are available in this run. The pictures were incorrect for those combinations. Images have been corrected, but it will take a few minutes for the page to update. Apologies for the confusion.
dgt5If you're thinking of ballpoint you should go one size down for a perfect fit with parker style G2 refills. Honestly though, you can easily cut an old cartridge piece as a sort of adapter for the G2 Parkers to fit in the standard. I have a side click in the short version and wanted to use a Pilot G2 I had lying around so I had the opposite issue and just cut it to size with no issues.
To give you a better answer, yes there is at least one ballpoint refill that is compatible with Pilot G2, or "euro-style refills". Uni-ball jetstream ballpoint but you may need to cut it to fit how far you want it to protrude from the pen (based on blogs I've followed, it says the Uni is typically 1-2 mm longer than other euro style refills) . I think that may be the only option honestly. I have heard of someone 3D printing adapters for D1 pen refills, but that may just make things more pricey.
I own the titanium version (bought outside of Drop), it's definitely worth it. I strongly suggest the Ohto Ceramic 0.7mm refills, the best ones I've tried, very smooth and regular writing, and very pigmentized ink (unlike some where you feel like you're writing with water paint), they're hard to find though (at least in France).
Btw, pics for bronze and copper versions are wrong, they show the side click pen, not the bolt action one.
tanbwSorry I don't know, I only own the regular size one. But if G2 refills fit in the short one (I don't know if they do), the Ohto ones should fit as well.
Can Drop possibly find slower shipping!? Somehow, they found a FedEx service that rivals the postal service of the 1780's. It's not even halfway yet... I might get it by next year.
If anyone can answer this I'd really appreciate it, and I feel stupid asking, but... how do you open up the pen when you replace the cartridge? I looked over the pen and tried to loosen it in several places, nothing. TT doesn't have a user guide on their site, and none in the box. TIA! Pen is really nice though. I got Ti full size.
The machining is so good you can't even see the join. It's about an inch upwards from the tip / nib end. There is a lack of grip, so use some rubber bands to hold both halves, and turn the tip counter-clockwise to open.
