Its crap! The keychain clip seems about as reliable as a toothpick and a chewed piece of gum would be, it lags upon recoil and wreaks of being super over priced.
i bought it, experienced the above, and am inquiring about a return, what i wanted was robust but very EDC a ble tape, this is a clear loser!
Shoot, I'm tempted. Too many times I've not had my 25' on me at work when the boss asks me to take a quick measurement, and it's often within 3'.
Nah. It's about time I started edcing my vintage minimalist Stanley 6-footer.
I guess it would be ok if you needed to measure your Subway sandwich or pizza to make sure you got what you payed for. For the same $39 from HomeCheapo, you can buy 13 Stanley 12 ft. tapes you won't cry about when you lose, run over, or get stolen.
I want to like this, but like others here, I'm afraid the internals don't match the price point. Would be nice to have something like this or slightly larger that was a lifetime keeper.
Thank You.
Is there a tape brake to keep it extended, or do You need to hold the extended tape with a finger?
I like that the tape is metallic and not a Mylar variant.
Wait. The tape's blade looks like the kind you get in a $1 keychain tape measure. You're paying $40 for a titanium shell on a $1 blade. My 1960s 6 foot Stanley has 4 feet of standoff. Does this have even a foot? Is there a coating on the blade, or does it start to wear when you use it a handful of times, like other cheap Chinese tape measure blades?
If it's tough enough to garrote someone, then it should be marketed as "tactical" or "assassin's measuring tape." (Especially if they can get an endorsement from Jack Bauer.)
3 feet of mini tape measure. Which means this $40 titanium Altoids Smalls tin has the exact same internals as the tape measure I received at my college graduation. A steal, comparatively.
