Also (I can't seem to find the answer online)--can you brew just one cup at a time?

PickypawzIt would be pretty tough to do and get a good cup of coffee. The machine is designed with a filter basket with a specific flow rate that keeps the water in contact with the beans for a specified time. My model has a slider that changes the flow rate for making 1/2 pot. You'll get the right amount, it just won't be the optimally brewed cup it was designed for. I don't think this is the right machine for making 1 cup at a time.
