Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

If you are still worried about damaging the cable, you can just order any mmcx ofc (oxygen-free copper) cable without a earguide (look at the picture or the item information carefully) from your local online store(ex:Amazon, Ali express,...) at a cheap price.
I found these two cables: https://www.ebay.in/itm/Silver-Plated-OFC-Hifi-Cable-For-Shure-SE215-SE425-SE535-Headphones-Blue/222570048523?hash=item33d2356c0b:g:RpAAAOSwEZdaMw0N and https://www.ebay.in/itm/PTFE-OCC-Silver-Plated-Cable-Cord-for-SHURE-SE846-SE535-SE425-SE315-SE215-UE900/222361299503?hash=item33c5c42a2f:g:45YAAOSwTmtaNtii
If there's something better, please give me a link. By the way, can cables affect the sound signature of an IEM?
Yes. Depending on the cable wire, sound changes quite a bit. (Compared to normal cables) Pure copper cables are known to add more bass details and improve bass reponse speed, and pure silver cables are known to add more details to the high ranged sounds. Silver plated cables or silver + copper alloy cables are somewhere in between.
But this is only a general information. Depending on the IEM, changing cables might change the sound, give a side effect, do both, or even change nothing.
What kind of cables are the default UE ones?
