Alright, I received mine today as expected and so far I'm pretty happy. These are my first Gateron switches and now I understand what they mean when they say "buttery smooth".
Just a couple things I wanted to note:
* I had read earlier in this thread that the backlights are just for ambient purposes, and I agree. The lights do not show through the keycaps.
* I can't seem to power off the keyboard. I hold down the Fn + Ins key for up to 30 seconds and the light under the Insert key stays on.
*UPDATE*
Ah, ok, you just hold down the Insert key by itself for a few seconds to turn it off.
earlcaulleyWhich back light color did you get? Mine show through the top half toward the front, and the front the top back and back are dark. I'm assuming these are front lit.
earlcaulleyEarl, sorry I didn't see your post until now. If you need the back light, (I know I do, it keeps me from a lot of cool keycaps.) You can pick up the Vortex Black Doubleshot backlit PBT + POM Keycaps - 104 Keycaps for Mechanical Keyboards. They run about 40 dollars on amazon. Search for white or black. I just ordered them because I don't care for white keys and I like seeing the backlight shine through the letters. I'll post a pic once I get them install. They arrive tomorrow.
SynergiThank you Synergi! It's too bad the key swap didn't work out. I will try to live with the keys I have I guess.
I have another follow up question. How do I clear the memory of all the paired devices on this keyboard? I see the description mentions Fn + Del, but it does nothing on my keyboard. I also tried holding the keys down for a long time but no luck.
**UPDATE**
Ok, I figured this out on my own. You have to make sure the keyboard is not currently connected to any device. While the Insert light is blinking, holding down Fn + Del will clear the keyboard's list of paired devices.
earlcaulleyI know. I was really hoping the keycaps would work. Its not bad though as I can see the letters on the white keycaps in the dark with backlit on. I'm thinking the mint green caps would work as well. If you find some caps that work let us know here in the thread. :D
