I work in a restaurant and I've realized that knife coatings mean nothing. Once you sharpen the knife after a year then you are going to strip off the titanium coating from the sharpening block so you are better off buying a good high quality stainless knife set from Wustoff, Global, kitchen aid , cuisin art.

Most of the reviews are useless gushing about how 'stylish' they look and how sharp they are (no doubt compared to their old knives which have been banging around in a drawer for the last five years). There were a few nuggets of useful information however:
" love the esthetics of the board, however they weren't as sharp as i expected and we had to buy a good sharpener as well "
" UPDATE: 3 months later and the smaller knives are now completely silver while the bigger knives are just about hanging on (for now) to their copper finish. Basically, the dishwasher has stripped the finish - perhaps best to hand wash them. "
" Only issue is you need to dry thoroughly as water marks show up a lot. "
" Handles feel very comfortable with mate (matt?) rubber-y finish. "
" This product was good to start with, but after a few weeks use i noticed that the handle on one of the blades was loosening. Also, they state that it is dishwasher safe, but that effects the quality of the product as it looses it shine "
