Surprised to see Exception here. Thought they were discontinued. These pens has been around for a long time and I have both F and M versions. Great writers, but not good for long term ownership. With light use, the plating starts rusting only after a few years.
tokataI am curious; have you contacted Waterman? I had a phenomenal experience with Waterman fixing a pen for free after decades of use. Aren't the bodies made of brass with plating on top though?
No converter in the SPEC or INCLUDED section, yet a converter is clearly pictured in the presented media. Care to clarify, MD?
(edit: switched inverter to converter because I'm not insane).
I have a Waterman Exception Night and Day (silver) as well as the Carene. They are both absolutely wonder pens...but I needed a third just, well, because...well, I don't need a reason.
The Carene is my daily driver. I love the weight and feel. The fine nib is very smooth and writes (thickness) something in-between fine and medium. The Carene has zero flex - it's a nail. A super smooth nail...but a nail nonetheless.
The Exception Night and Day is "full sized" - it's bigger and much heavier. The nib is flexible and very classic in design.
In my case, I wanted something that was a little lighter than the Exception full size for every day use on the road...that, yes, I'm going to claim the Vain...matched my watch. (*Well, that and a lousy rolling fall destroyed the nib of my Expert...).
The price here is $100+ better than what I've seen on Amazon for the Exception Slim. The Fine nib is superb and not too fine. The paper feel is just sublime on my Exception. I'm really hoping we make the Drop!
