Most Listened of 2022

Activity for fun! The streaming platforms have released their “Here’s what you listened to most!” playlists for 2022! I love sharing and seeing what others listen to: it is kind of a fun way to get to know eachother, and discover new music! I’ll kick things off by sharing mine… I used Tidal and Qobuz for “work” this year, plus I got into vinyl and discovered RadioParadise.com, and I like my local radio stations (Shout out to WYEP 91.3!), but the platform I used most for personal listening was Apple Music. When they came out with their HiRes and Spatial Audio catalog, but kept their price at just $10 ($15 to give my wife her own playground & algorithm influence, haha), it felt like a screaming deal! However, I’m kind of embarrassed and amused at my #1 song, but I can’t deny it makes sense since I introduced the song to my four nephews and nieces 😂 https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/replay-2022/pl.rp-OLLgf4ZWVG

Some songs are platform exclusive, but this service works pretty well! For individual songs, albums, or artists, I also like to use https://songwhip.com/ to create a link tree to show the music across most of the major streaming services and stores. You can find your Apple ‘22 replay by selecting “listen now” and scrolling down, but I’ll save you some time as this link should pull up a webpage with a fun personalized recap for you: https://replay.music.apple.com/ The TIDAL #My2022Rewind playlist should be right at the top of the Home Screen, here’s mine: https://tidal.com/mix/0099b19ac397dfcdffa3ab81ffb9ee

www.spotify.com/wrapped will take members of this service to their personalized story, or you can check out what was most popular across all the members of the service at this link: https://open.spotify.com/genre/0JQwww.spotify.com/wrappednvspEu4hR8-2BZCILDidMg (my wife dominated the playback on this one):

PushFaderCashCheckLMAO How many times did you watch these two guys goofing around like drunk BFFs instead of world megastars?
I am not at all ashamed to admit that my year was dominated by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - easily my favorite artist of modern times (at least right now). @Evshrug how did you find your genre and total play time stats? I'm not seeing those on my Apple Music Replay page.
HoffmanMysterYou have to go to the website I shared! Once you’re there and Logged In, you click or tap the button to start your highlight reel… it’s in the second page and on the last page of the highlight reel “story!”

EvshrugAhhhh, thank you! Seems really strange to hide some things in the reel when the vast majority is visible on the main page. I have no interest in sharing a reel with this info so didn't even look there. 😅
I’ll add my Spotify wrapped which for some reason is only available on mobile I was way too into Fleetwood Mac this year- top 0.5% of listeners apparently the second half of my top artists is all jazzy “get work done” stuff but still kinda interesting. I’ve already picked up some interesting new music to listen to from some friends wrapped - I’m excited to see what everyone else has!

TeenageMutantNinjaSquirtlesRumors is absolutely a classic, no surprise it could grab your attention and live in your head for only $10 rent per month 🤣 ”Get work done” playlists are essential! Did you see my two “working” playlists? I’m curious what “jazzy” work tracks you use, because everyone needs “task” music!
EvshrugIve recently gotten really into Funkmammoth. Before that it was a lot of Jamiroqai and a few playlists I stole from my brother. basically all the fake "old" stuff gets me for some reason.
Bonus playlists! I know 2022 was a hard year for many. I myself had times where I was so stressed, I couldn’t even sleep, and I got sick! One thing that kept my mind from spiraling down bad thoughts, but was also calm enough to let me sleep at night (what a hard balance!), was Sound Bath music – deep tones from big gongs, plus sometimes some water tricking or birdsong. Who knows, it might help you relax too! https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/sound-bath/pl.fcf37254bdd449e3a815d797ed66840f A special shout out to Radiohead for “How to Disappear Completely.” It’s not a particularly upbeat song… but the story goes, lead singer Thom Yorke was panicking about Radiohead’s sudden fame and largest stadium-filled concert ever, and he asked fellow musician Michael Stipe from REM how he dealt with it… they told him to shutter his windows and say “I’m not here, this isn’t happening.” Disconnect himself (and yourself) from the situation and emotions, view it from the third person, and then deal with it logically. Kind of creepy, but also empathetic, and cathartic in a way: https://songwhip.com/radiohead/how-to-disappear-completely I also realize that RIGHT NOW is an incredibly busy time, a time of trying to crunch and a time of deadlines before a much needed break. I made this playlist specifically to play for background stimulation to keep away boredom, without taking away focus: https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/getting-things-done/pl.u-V5yNHby41v And then, there’s this playlist of FAMILIAR and upbeat songs to pump you up at the last hour before a deadline (it’s 59 minutes long!!): https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/working-at-the-11th-hour/pl.u-Dk1dcKWzlk
