2Mk1But more logistics cost for the manufacturer and thus a more expensive item. Most of these items are not coming from manuf. → market companies, but those who utilize retailers to sell their products. It's a lot easier to organize shipping 4000 of something to a single place than to 4000 places. Not the least of that is having some way to easily transfer the shipping information to the manuf. seamlessly.
In short: because logistics.

Heeftyand what certainty has Drop - if the manufacturer ships - that it was actually shipped, on date, to the right people? (1) Proof of shipping from the manufacturer requires extra people, data handling, onsite extra storage. (1a) Still requires Drop to validate shipping data - was actually sent and not scammed by a rogue staff member, proof the product went to the right person, asap, etc. (2) To physically ship requires even more staff, final shipping packaging in addition to product packaging, organising courier, payment of courier - return payment from Drop or accounting macro to take that price as a credit for the manufacturer. (3) Some overseas countries demand the shipper to pay import taxes/duties. Ain't worth the hassle. On the other hand: High Qual Company receives order from Drop for 500 headphones. (1) Manufacturer uses the same shipping process to Drop as it does to its retailers. 1, say, container/truck/palletised. (2) Simple item count. (3) Notification to Drop - shipment sent. Takes 5 days. Drop validates on entry of goods into warehouse. Goes to accounting. Payment in 30 days.
