Over half my purchases here were in categories that no longer exist. A broader selection of hobby and interest categories will produce more cross-promotion between categories.  It's obvious from the remaining categories that this is a site for primarily male enthusiasts of somewhat technical or gear-oriented hobbies, but even given that, my suggestion would be to go broader, or else Drop will end in a death-spiral. I mean, how many keyboards does one person need? I'll stop opening the emails now since my faves are gone, and that will mean Drop could miss out on me purchasing a watch or headphones every few years. Multiply that across the user base and you're talking real money.

lbdesign> how many keyboards does one person need?  Actually the Mechanical Keyboard community is filled with enthusiasts that typically will own more than "just one" keyboard. I've seen people show off their collections of 5 or 6 with numbers even as high as 10 or 12 not unheard of.

Dragon1291But in the fountain pen community, that number is often hundreds of pens per person. I assume knives can be the same, but they didn't sunset knives — they sunset pens. And other hobbies that are higher volume and equally high interest. Appreciate your comment, but in terms of scale and volume, I'm not understanding why Drop dropped the categories they did.

lbdesignOh I understand your point I was just saying what I said since to the layperson there is really no reason to get more than 1 keyboard per PC.
