The 75% Unicomp m83 looks amazing! I wonder what the MSRP will be.
Also, does anyone know if the Unicomps have the same atrocious 2-key rollover the Model Ms did?
JoschI happened to have had their black "m" which is pretty much an exact recent example of an IBM m and it still retained the 2-key rollover.
That 2-key rollover only applies to certain key combinations though; as with all m's, some combinations go past 5/6 simultaneous inputs.
Key rollover shouldn't be too much of an issue for everyday intensive use and even gaming unless you need to spam an absurd amount of certain key combinations. Even then, the 2-key rollover problem coming to light is seldom and rare.
N-key rollover has been an overhyped selling point imho. I would not worry about it at all.
The vast majority of people with a NKRO board do not even take advantage of that fact because it's simply not needed with typical use.
LeukybearThe smaller the keyboard though to more appealing NKRO becomes, otherwise key combinations become pretty limited. Unfortunately with the membranes on buckling spring boards it could actually be pretty hard to implement. Nice thing is, if this board gets produced it could really make a DIY option much more feasible.
