Product Description
The 8Bitdo FC30 Pro Gamepad features a flashy, vintage-inspired gold finish and a full button layout reminiscent of classic video game controllers—but the nostalgia stops there. I'd like to know if the PCB for the d-pad are still fucked? Because I will never purchase any of their products for as long as they don't fix it. It looks great on the outside, super portable with all the buttons I need, but I do not endorse shit hardware put inside of a cute shell.

I can probably help.
S/he is talking about dpad imprecision. The fact that you like your 8bitdo and, especially, that you think the 360 dpad is acceptable leads me to believe that you have never played a video game with either gamepad that requires such precision. (The link oxysoft provided you with explains the design failure in more detail.)
This requirement is EXTREMELY common in console games before the days of analog sticks, which--surprise, surprise!--many people use this gamepad for.
Go play Contra 3 with this shiny turd, and come back and tell us how long you survive. :)
My 8bitdo is gathering dust next to my xbox360 gamepad.
The only wireless gamepads I have ever used which are acceptable for retro/emulation gaming are the Playstation and Xbone gamepads.

gibbousmoonI gave into this drop so that I could get know for once how the controller holds up, and promised myself to leave some very angry and shitty reviews if it turned out to be as bad as it looked. D-pad is actually slightly better than expected, however as you noted, it is indeed unusable for Contra 3 and other such games that require precise controls. Regardless, I have found some use and enjoyment out of it for portable PSX gaming where I can just relax with the joystick. The joystick isn't ideal either but still comfortable and usable enough that I can play just as skillfully as with my regular controllers in the Spyro trilogy, and being able to play anywhere and on way to school aboard public transit with my tablet has made it worth it.
So definitely would not recommend to anyone looking to play NES games and the likes. Regardless of diagonal precision, the d-pad isn't even comfortable to begin with. Hurts your fingers after 5-10 minutes and it digs into your skin. However still a decent purchase for games that require less accuracy and that are fine with the joystick. The joystick, while it isn't stellar, is very usable and not that much different than what you would have on a PS Vita. It does have a greasy texture to it that never seems to come off, it seems to be that way naturally.
I got a few of these for my latest RetroPie build, and love them. 8Bitdo stuff in general is very good in general (works well via BT, solid construction), but this is my favorite. It still has the retro vibes but has enough functionality thanks to the two analog joysticks and 4 bumper buttons to perform well with NES classics all the way up to PS2 and N64 games. The massdrop pricing on these is great as well, highly recommend these little guys.

clonex10100You can also find NES and SNES cases on amazon. Out of all the ones I have tried the "nespi case" is one of my favorite.

Since this is bluetooth compatible for android devices, can i use it to run emulators for any other system than the nes?

shadowkreepAll of the emulators I have used have an external controller setup. You will have to dig through the settings in the emulator you're using. Make sure you pair the controller first so your emulator sees it when you go to configure the controller. Here is my old USB controller setup in Nostalgia.nes

DafragI actually use DraStic DS Emulator that allows me to configure my controls however i want based on the amount of buttons the external controller has. It really works incredibly well. This controller was easily one of my favorite purchases on MD

lol, why complain about someone answering your question and just google next time!?
You really need to not complain about people helping out. Go buy on amazon if you can't google.

Hello All,
Sorry for the delayed shipping response but I wanted to get a firm answer for you all. We have received numerous packages if not all of them at our warehouse today 9/5 and it will take approximately 3-4 days to get all of your orders out and tracking will follow shortly after.
"Delivered On: Tuesday, 09/05/2017 at 9:39 A.M."
This was a rather large drop with over 1200 members joining and we apologize for the delay.

They are still breaking down the huge shipment into 1200+ individual shipments. Unfortunately this does take some time.
I see that you are moving and if this is the case please put an address change in with our CS team so we can ensure delivery.

We are still waiting for the warehouse to ship. Unfortunately I can not speak for any hurricane delays but I hope all is well for those affected by Irma.

I got this the last time and after using for a bit, I feel like I should give some input. First of all, I expected it to feel like the SNES controller that it was (mostly) modeled from. It feels significantly tighter. The ABXY buttons are smaller and closer together than I was expecting and the dpad is smaller. It also rocks a bit, meaning Up sometimes becomes UpRight if your mashing some button on your right hand and your hand gets a bit skewed. It's not that bad unless you are playing a game super sensitive to dpad movement.
I am using on a RetroPie setup. I thought it would work awesome, but even after installing the 8Bitdo controller info from the bluetooth setup, it takes a while to register bluetooth. I find myself leaving the thing on all the time to fix this issue. Also, I noticed that when the controller wasn't responding, it would work if I would just plug it in USB. Well, by the time the controller configuration was complete, the bluetooth magically started working again, so it would double press (once for USB, once for bluetooth) as if it were two separate controllers.
This all may seem petty, but there is a significant customer base of RetroPie users 8Bitdo is basing their marketing on and I found it much more frustrating than it should have been.
I will say that the lights are nice and the box and packaging was well above par. I wouldn't be surprised if a former apple packaging engineer works for them...

Yes, for the mistake they made with the last drop the options were that they will replace it to you if you ship the wrong stock back to them and wait a couple of months. That drop had 3 points in their process that would have picked up the error and avoided the wrong product to be sent in the first place. I find the 'support' to be lacking in making up for the emotional and financial stress this drop had caused.

DON'T BOTHER ORDERING THE FAMICOM COLORWAY - MASSDROP DOES NOT DO ANY QUALITY CONTROL AND WILL SHIP TO YOU WITH SCRATCHES. THE NES CONTROLLER IS ALRIGHT BECAUSE IT LACKS A STEEL FACEPLATE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Raiders7Massdrop doesn't do quality control, 8BitDo does. Massdrop is just a retailer. Mine had a few small scratches. Nothing to cry about, still prefer its style over the NES one.

EatingInternetIf thats true, then Massdrop would have directed me to 8BitDo, right? Why didn't that happen? Anyway, glad yours had minor scratches though, because mine had major ones.

I bought mine from Aliexpress about a month ago. You can buy them there for less than 30$, with free shipping. So I don't quite see the point in buying them here. The controller is nice, but I'm a little disappointed in the haptic feel of the D-Pad.

DukeOfVandals87Generally, my experience with Aliexpress has been very good, even when it comes to branded items. But I usually make sure to buy from official sellers like the Xiaomi store or Orico Direct and the like. I'm fairly certain that I didn't receive a fake item, mostly due to the quality of the product I received. It does have minor flaws but it's a good controller overall. If you want, I will try to reach out to 8BitDo and see if they can somehow verify that I didn't get a knock-off product by using the product ID or something of that sort.
