I didn’t arrest anyone with a knife, not even autos. I’d talk with them about knives and the common interest would often goes miles for rapport. I arrested heroin and meth heads who carried homemade shivs and shanks and brass knuckles. And I only arrested if it was absolutely necessary or I was ordered to. I have stopped ppl walking with katanas and wakizashi short swords before and not taken or cited them. It’s all discretionary and I could care less. A lot of times a group of knife nuts would be in a public restaurant or public area with all their knives out on a table and I totally got in on that with my own pocket dump.
SeadonkeyLoveNoice! Meth does make people nuts. Good on ya for just talking to the dudes with the short swords. :) Were they practicing wushu in a park? I imagine that would probably scare some cops.
Fell in love with it almost immediately. Centered blade, no play, good lockup. Smooth flipper action, and easy to disengage lock for closing.
Came nice and sharp as it should. Better looking in hand than pictures, I chose blue. Very satisfied with this purchase.
I have several of the Bestech low-end knives and think they are all pretty good for the money; however, it looks to me like Bestech is taking the same approach as Kizer and a few others with regard to their budget series. i.e. flooding the market with a lot of very similar models in hopes of finding at least one that is appealing to everyone. Trouble is there will be so many that their value will be next to nothing if you want to unload them. Great users, but if you don't wear them out (which few of us probably do) then you'll probably have a hard time unloading them. You may as well give them away as their value continues to decrease. The other approach these companies are taking is to make smaller and smaller knives which cost about twice the money per inch as a full size. They're cute, but you get tired of them pretty quickly. Once you have about 4 or 5 of these low-end knives (like I do) you begin to see your mistake. (No, I'm not giving mine away just yet, LOL)
Mine arrived today and have 2 questions for the group
1) the gimping on the flipper tab is extremely sharp and therefore very uncomfortable to deploy. Is this normal and is there anything I can do about it and
2) the action is a little gritty - will disassembly / cleaning / lubrication solve or do I need to “break it in”?
bestech's customer service ( Julie in china when i dealt with them) is above and beyond MANY USA based companies they are fantastic. the guy for the USA is based in Louisiana...and he stays in touch from beginning to end...A+++++
I had one and returned it - just too darn small. I had lots of trouble with the ergonomics and found it difficult to open in my medium-size hands. Fit and finish were excellent.
