Question 1: for the double layer belt, is it double thickness throughout to the end? Or double thickness to a certain point and then single thickness for the portion that threads through the buckle?
Question 2: is the double thick belt more or less rigid than an ares gear aegis belt? And is it the same thickness as an aegis belt?
Thanks for your help. Looking for a replacement belt that carries a heavy load on a daily basis, but doesn't cut into my hip bone when sitting. And, can't be to too thick. Currently using an old 5.11 belt with plastic stiffner.
Size E should be perfect.

DodaJust got belt. Will start edc tomorrow. Re Thickness, it is slightly thinner and slightly less rigid than aegis belt. Sometimes aegis is too thick/rigid for me. Just depends what you're looking for.

Looks interesting... but $21.25 for international shipping seems excessive.

What ended up happening to the package and what happened when you finally talked to MD about the package getting "lost" somewhere between them and Asend and you?

While I found the belt is of nice quality the buckle can be finicky at times when trying to open. The buckle is so large that I cannot fit through the loops on any pants except larger one for outdoor pants or ski pants. A little disappointing so keep that in mind if you want to wear it with jeans not happening.
A lot of "tactical pants" manufacturers have also figured it out and started using wider belt loops. These Vertx Delta Stretch look really promising. They work with our other belts, so they would work great with the CobraStrap too. I think these
should be on Massdrop actually, if Vertx is up for it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANDW2a8OXH4

CarbonTacticsMassdrop could definitely stand to add some tactical pants, considering all that is out there today. Vertx has some nice designs.

Any suggestions on single layer vs double layer? Is single layer more than enough for most or have those who gone double layer glad they did?

mrpcakesIf you like the style I would without a doubt go for the double ply. I think the single ply would flop with a holster or heavy pouches. If you are looking for a belt for the purposes of carrying a weapon in a holster, and fashion / style is a secondary consideration, I would go with a thick traditional leather belt marketed for that use. I'm a Soldier, I am going to wear a coyote brown rigger's belt whether it is this one or the issue one. For me it is a nice little extra. My hidden batman belt.
If anyone has questions, just let me know :)

CarbonTacticsI wear a 42 in jeans. Would a double thick belt all for an "F" size?
JZHeyde@JZHeyde Yes, that is what I would expect. Please measure your waist circumference if possible, and check the left column of the chart (WAIST SIZE) to be 100% sure.
If anyone has questions, just let me know :)
Thank you! My fiance and I run the business on our own, so we have a unique way of doing things. Is that range of 32-35"based on the sizes of pants you wear? If so, I would go with a Size D. If you do get the belt and the sizing doesn't work, let us know and we can get it exchanged. Best to get it right the first time though :)

CarbonTacticsKinda based on the pants more so an approximation based on the belt holes lol... But that's a awesome that the two of you are producing such fantastic products! Definitely will have my support for the foreseeable future
If anyone has questions, just let me know :)
I would go with a size Large because you are on the edge between to the two sizes. You can always trim the single-layer strap shorter with scissors if needed. Then lightly melt the cut end with a lighter to prevent fraying. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey Mike, thanks for your response... You are probably right to suggest the double layer (based on what I stated for my needs), I guess I was just stuck in wishful thinking... Let me ask you this though, if I went with the double layer belt, would I be able to purchase a single layer belt (possibly a different color) on the website?? I know that the buckles are not sold individually (or at least I don't think they are??), but what about the belt-straps?? Also, in this drop, are the belt-strap layers and colors the only options for us to customize (aside from the sizing, obviously)?? Is the single black cobra buckle the only option for this drop?? I was also thinking about sizing, because from what I have been reading, I think that I be right on the threshold between sizes?? I wear a 36W but it fits my waist with a little room, so that I can use a belt when IWB Carrying (and still not be too snug)... with this, I would still be able to IWB other items if needed too.. Do you what length of belt strap would be ideal for someone that wears a typical 36W (and with this size is able to IWB Carry)?? With the double layer belt strap, can you quote the thickness of the double layer (not the 1.5" width obviously)?? I wonder if there would be a concern about using holsters that clip on or feed through leather or nylon cutouts for holster carrying?? Would most "plastic" j-clips and c-clips fit properly if sized at 1.5" (and what about clip on holsters like for a smartphone case - think Otterbox Defender)... Sorry to drop all of these bombs on you, Mike, but if you could clarify even a few of them, it would help my decision making process... Purchasing certain items on the internet always does this to me, but there are some really good deals that can help justify the risk, in most cases!!
If anyone has questions, just let me know :)

While there aren't any serrations like other buckles might have, when force is applied, the sliding bar pinches the belt inside the buckle tightly.

CarbonTacticsI generally wear anywhere from 28-30. My Levi are either size 29 or 30. What size belt would be the best for me, assuming I wanted the double-layer version?

I got the double layer belt in black about a week ago (to give it a bit of time before commenting). When you first get it, the release action is super stiff and therefore hard to pull apart, and yes I press the buckle together while depressing the release buttons. Just give it time, opening and closing the buckle will break it in and now it's smooth as butter.
Second, threading the belt through the loop is a bit confusing at first but there are youtube videos that show how it works (search for cobra belt on youtube).
Third, the double layer is perfect (for me). It is a tiny bit thicker than my old leather belt, so the change was seamless. However, it is much, much more sturdy than said leather belt and it would have no problems hauling around an IWB holster and other holsters (eg. mag holders, etc). The end of the belt is single layer but it would be 100% impossible to thread through the buckle otherwise, and since it loops back to the pant loops it actually feels double layer all the way.
The one negative with this buckle is the fact that the buckle doesn't sit flush with your abdomen. The part where it loops through the buckle raises it and there is hardly anything you can do about it. It's hard to explain without a picture, but it annoys the heck out of my OCD. I haven't tried with an IWB holster yet but it would probably raise the t-shirt even further since I carry appendix.
Beyond that, this belt is the best and most robust I have ever owned. I also purchased the magnetic one which only drops in single-layer currently (on Massdrop) but I'm still waiting on that one. I hope this mini-review is useful and I certainly recommend this belt if you are on the fence.

I have to note that this is the most contact and communication I have seen from a vendor on a drop. Thank you for that, it is refreshing. I hope the relationship works out well. Forgive me if I don't jump on the new drop until I see the product from the first.

Just a bit ago for a mechanical quick release. That drop had a double walled option that was referred to above. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/23343
