Not a very well planned drop from both Massdrop and CEntrance. Here's why:
Average consumers - will think that this is snake oil and is over the top to pay for a pair of speaker cables. Argument on whether they do produce any sonic difference is unproductive and irrelevant.
Audiophiles - would have at some point built their own cables and understand that getting 12 AWG 600 strand OFC, Teflon shielding, cotton braid, silver solder terminated into a banana plug can be costly. This cable? Next to no specs listed.
Who is this drop marketed at?

People with way more money than sense, kind of like that stupid $90 headphone stand a couple of weeks back.

Not to be rude or anything, but you just described 80-90% of the products & buyers on Massdrop, since the site leans towards the niche/luxury buyer.
Normal people and non-music lovers say we, here on the audiophile section, are suckers for spending more than $20 on a set of headphones, that you can get for free with your phone.
We Audiophiles look at the "writing" guys, and think it's crazy to spend $100 on a single pen, when you can get a 12-pack for $5.99 at office depot.
The Writing guys look at the "everyday carry" guys and ask, "really, how many flashlights does one person need"?!
And the everyday carry guys seem to get along with the tea guys just fine, because the every day carry guy just so happens to have a portable tea brewing kit, in his leather messenger bag he got over on the men's fashion section. :)

Rsc75Oh I know I did. I'm a sucker for a good pen, I just used that stand as an example since there was another one being dropped at the same time that was very similar but about a quarter of the price.
Hell, I'd consider myself even worse because I'm one of those "form over function" types.

BrockWallsI don't see anything wrong with $100 cables or $90 headphone stands. I'm talking about marketing. If we follow the line of argument that $90 for headphone stands is too much, we'll eventually talk stationary and cars; there's no end to it.
Luxury cars make sense. Advertising luxury cars in a homeless shelter doesn't.

BrockWallsWoo Audio headphone stands venture dangerously close to $90 and are worth every penny.
Perhaps not to you, but to those of us who appreciate quality, absolutely.
Are these cables worth $80, though? Probably not.
