Yes. At least my wife doesn't. She just asked me to get a new battery put in an old quartz Ladies G Shock I gave her way back. Quartz is just less of a hassle for her. If you're not into watches as cool machines, the whole thing of keeping them wound and set is a pain. Women are less interested in these things, on average.

Women don't like quartz watches. You'll learn. They are not into the tiny-machines-are-cool ethic. Watches are jewelry to them, and they don't like to fiddle with their jewelry every day. It took me two automatic watch gifts to figure this out. And to this day I am reminded of it because those two watches are in a little basket on the living room table so that she can wind them daily, while audibly sighing and giving me the sideeye. I mentioned winders, to which she responded: "Another machine? And why are they so big and ugly?" Actually, she just rolled her eyes and walked off, but I know how to translate that into English. I also have to deal with "technical support": "Why is the watch two minutes slow? Make that not happen!" And then there's: "That watch is waterproof for rainy days, but only if you screw down the crown; otherwise the water flows right on in." To which she responds, "Why is this watch so much trouble!"
