This knife was my EDC for a long time with its solid build, confident action. Easy to wrist flick, great for work and various tasks. Price is a great value.
A bit larger than expected, for me its a plus. Great finish. Very sharp from the factory. Love opening mechanism on it, very smooth. The clip could be smaller, it protrudes over a 1/4" from the knife and can fit over the belt.
I plan to carry it in jeans pocket, so the smaller clip would be more convenient.
I bought this as a fancy box cutter and as a practice blade to learn how to sharpen knives so I can personally maintain my more expensive knives. My only regret is picking the upgraded carbon fiber handles. They're glossy and slick - which isn't practical or comfortable. The handle is also a bit thicker than I prefer - but thats on me since the specs were out there when I made the decision to buy. Otherwise I'd be hard pressed to find a better knife in the $35 price range.
This knife with carbon fiber looks very impressive. I have used it very little but I feel sure the D2 blade will perform as expected. For the money, I believe it would be hard to best this knife's materials and workmanship.
I have carried this knife for about a week. It is sharp and seems to hold an edge under normal cutting tasks. I would prefer a spine flipper over the thumbstuds, but with a flick the blade comes out most of the time.
Fit and finish are good; I haven't found any issues so far.
Perfectly centered and sharp out of the box. The action is really good, not quite fall shut but that's not a knock. The detent is perfectly tuned and it looks good. I "splurged" for the carbon fiber version. It's a laminate but it does look good. It's a little slippery, so not the best if you're going to have wet hands but that's not what I am using it for. At 4.7 oz, it's a bit over the magic 1-to-1 ratio but it's a pretty big knife and it feels good in my hands. I've got fairly big hands and I'm a klutz, so I like my knives a little on the big side for most people. This is just about perfect for me. I like the deep carry pocket clip and with the slick CF scales, this thing slides in and out of the pocket like a dream. At the price, I don't know how you can go wrong.
Very good knife, big and solid, the opening is quick with the thumb stud or with reverse flick, the shutting is smooth thanks to ball bearings, a bit heavy (130g), the CF is very soft, CJRB do really good knives and with this one it's a success :)
