I’m confused about something, is the August 17th date when I will be getting my keyboard shipped? I haven’t yet placed an order but, I checked the “details” section and that’s what it stated.

Woah... well for starters everyone in this discussion is complaining about their orders being delayed and not meeting their original ship date. Also complains about the customer service regarding such issues. From this post it seems like they are right.

I received an error when trying to flash a custom keyboard configuration via the instructions on the Drop keyboard configuration: "Could not find a valid device port!". Has anyone else seen this error before and know how to fix it. Not being able to update the firmware is horrible! I should also mention that I tried Linux and windows to try and get it working but no luck.

Hi Avereee, this seems to have fixed the problem and I was able to flash the custom format! Thanks for the tip!

Hi, I’m trying to place an order but the system doesn’t let me add on any of the optional items? What’s going on?

Purchased a Drop Alt Barebones keyboard on May 11th and it was delivered July 24th. After anticipating the keyboard for 2 months, I built it out and found that the factory default programmed FN key does not work. Tried multiple switches and various troubleshooting, and it seems to be the PCB that is the problem. I already e-mailed customer support 4 days ago, and I'm awaiting a reply. However, just wondering so I can plan accordingly-- does anyone know if Drop will replace my PCB for me despite the keyboard being a pre-order keyboard only? Worried they may not keep inventory because of its type of availability. I'd be pretty disappointed if I waited 2 months for my build to be left with no solution to a defective PCB... but staying hopeful! Thanks to anyone with any information!

South facing leds is a deal breaker for me and anyone looking for backlit keebs because I know 1 set that takes south facing leds vs everything else working with north facing leds. If that’s not your thing then for sure otherwise this would be one of the top choices

i dont know anything because ive never ordered from them before but ive heard others say that they have terrible customer service and wont fix they're issues. So personally I would just go to KBDFans like RangerXML said because even if their products cost a little more you are guaranteed quality and if something doesn't work I've heard that they have good customer service unlike Drop

is the light diffuser optional or do you have to use it to make the board fit? not an rgb fan lol.

It is not optional. It is a required component for case assembly. The best you can do at this point is turn the LEDs off.

EDIT: Don't want another dead board in a year, so I'm returning it. Even with the stock USB cable, the LEDs still turn off when I'm in a game. Went with a KBDFans preorder for a hot swap. Way to go Drop, only 3 months late and the LEDs are not working. Thank you! Can someone please refer a good alternative to the Drop Alt, I'd prefer something like the high profile. Thank you in advanced, if it meets my needs, I'm just returning this. Looks really nice compared to my original Alt, nice weight to it too.

Looks like we also got a smaller switch puller.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the custom cables, but we cannot guarantee their compatibility with our keyboards. We don't control the design and production of those cables. It'd be up to the makers to design for compatibility.

Even with the stock cable the LEDs are turning off now, I don't want to deal with any issues in the future, so I set up a return.

How do I get the $10 discount on the GMK Red Samurai (65% Kit)? I already pre-ordered this, but it still only shows $90 at checkout.

Yup. @Avereee, please submit a ticket with CS to get the processes started for a replacement unit. When you receive your replacement, please exercise caution when installing switches. Make sure the switch pins are straight before attempting to install the switches. Once the pins are aligned with the socket, press down with even pressure. Do not force anything into place as that is likely to damage the sockets/PCBA. For a visual guide to installing switches, you can refer to the video linked below. It's for a different keyboard, but the same methodology applies. https://youtu.be/JvwMTZTPPEA?t=210
