Hi Everyone,
As you've heard in the media, the novel coronavirus is having a dramatic effect on production capacity in China. As of writing, all of our contract manufacturing facilities in China are on hold, pending permission from local and state governments to re-open. At this point, it is very difficult to forecast the length or extent of the closures, as well as the delays caused by a slower-than-usual resumption of operations.
We're monitoring the situation daily and expect to start getting more information about the situation early next week. We plan to send out another update in 5-7 days. Suffice to say, the delays that we have previously communicated will likely be extended.
We thank you for your patience during this difficult time and appreciate your understanding.
JaleesaGRealistically, there is no way this was running on schedule, and the Coronavirus tragedy is convenient cover for what was already a forgone conclusion of delay.
JaleesaGThis is by far, the most infuriating "update" you've given so far. Not because it's saying that the delay will be even longer, but because you're giving an update at a time and occasion when you really don't need to - we're all aware what's going on in China - instead of when we genuinely want to know what's taking so long. So DON'T send out another update about coronavirus-related delay in 5-7 days! Instead, tell us how YOU'RE failing so spectacularily to deliver on deadline after deadline that you set - and what you're doing RIGHT NOW to change this.
chriskinI completely agree with this guideline and I absolutely would say "this shit" in person. And I have in the past, in a respectful manner like now. Transparently and honestly communicating one's thoughts and expectations in a transactional business relation like this, should be the foundation of trust and respect on both parties' sides. I don't feel Drop (and JaleesaG as its representative, in this case) has been doing this, but I don't intend to break the code myself.
kokoonThere were previous posts stating that the silence was worse than anything and that any update was better than no update. We'll they gave us some update at least. Better than radio silence.
JaleesaG@JaleesaG I guess it is not possible to join the drop at this stage, no?
Just asking. I think it looks pretty good, and seems that it hasn't shipped yet.
