This is a cyberpunk inspired project that I developed based on the cyberpunk philosophy and MT3 tools developed for the community.
Design premises & project constraints:
• Color way & novelties:
Cyberpunk / neon palette and computing era references.
• Tech trash:
Utilize/recycle denied color samples from various projects I worked on during my life, since 2014.
• Function & form:
Combine kits considering popular keyboards, MT3 machine tools output and real life mold constraints, to accomplish function first (and some form as by product, hence the seemingly random colors).
• Optimal production:
Utilize the MT3 tools (Susuwatari) to achieve optimal production scenario, with zero waste, no tool cleaning, minimum possible manufacturing time.
The result:
Supporters will be able to utilize all the keys included to create a particular look unique to them. There are various accents, color hints to be used, on different areas of the keyboard so you can decorate your keyboard with cyberpunk/chaotic vibes.

Yes, this is a pre order in which everybody can buy kits at a heavily discounted price. After 30 days the prices will increase as the key caps will be for sale on a regular basis. If you want the keycaps for the lowest possible price, join as soon as you can during these initial 30 days.
Can we have R5?
MT3 double shot keycaps can't be made in R5, the molds do not exist.
Can X keycap be added to Y kit?
This is unfortunately not possible without changing the whole production system for this keycap set.
Laser?
None of the colors used in this project match the GMK/SA Laser project, the SA Laser R2 is coming Q1 2021.
Does this work on my keyboard?
Probably yes, you can ask me in the comments so I can double check for you.
I have some design ideas for my own keycap set, can you help me?
Join my Discord and show me what you got! Hopefully I can help you create your own drop to establish yourself as a part time/full time creator of key cap sets and keyboard goods.
Designers/vendors typically don't have enough capital to pay for all of the keycaps up front so they use group buys to get the required funding for the orders. There are plenty of keycaps you can purchase that are available right now on amazon and taobao but when you get into these custom designers, profiles, manufacturers etc. you end up waiting because of how much smaller this market is.
You don't really have to join the group buy in order to get the keycaps. You can wait until the vendor sells their "extras" which are the orders they paid for in order to sell after the group buy ships to the people that pre ordered. The extras are usually marked up and a bit more expensive and can be difficult to attain if there aren't a lot of sets which is the biggest risk of waiting since it isn't guaranteed like a group buy, but you do not have to wait months without money or product.
Ultimately, the group buy format is the mostly widely used for keycaps, keyboards etc. in the community. There are options for in stock keyboards and keycaps all over the internet, but for the good stuff, you gotta wait.
6 months is a fast turnaround in keyboards tbh. Definitely a bit of a shock when you first get into it. Same with everything being sold out all the time.
Another MT3 recolor without unique novelties or characteristics. Drop is churning these out by the dozens with absolutely no change in molds or kitting. No R5 for ortho makes no sense.
Never coming is probably a stretch, I hope it comes at some point in the future. But it is true, the tools are quite inflexible, which makes it very hard to accommodate small changes and additions. Unlike other tools from other profiles, an addition or removal of a single keycap comes with very big consequences.
You are right. You know much more about this than I do.
I was under the impression that the cost of legend mold was significantly less than the cost of the key mold. Since the key molds exist in R5, but legends do not, I figured it would be a small step.
I take your word for it that I was under the wrong impression.
Being uninformed, and now more informed, does change my perspective, but it does not change my view on these MT3 sets. I wish they would have been more than Susuwatari recolors. Even if that's an ignorant wishing for the moon.
I hope in the future you get more of a hand in designing legends and kits.
drashnaI feel your pain. With all the new MT3 in-stock options and no colevrak support, I thought we were still just stuck with group buys. But I guess this means it’s bye-bye to support in group buys, too. I hope the recent fact that colevrak is the only kit sold out in /dev/tty custom extras will make Drop reconsider their decision going forward.
I don't understand why there's so many people shitting on MiTo and Drop for this set... I mean... If you don't fucking like it the don't buy it and fuck off? Go ahead and make your own design and spend the money yourself to manufacture a keyset to your liking if you're going to bitch about every single little detail that doesn't suit your impossible to please demands.
Kinda makes me think of the Cyberpunk 2077 community shitting all over CDP Red...
Oh wait a minute, I see what you did here MiTo!
Lol
Love the set, and love the colorway. Curious to see how this would look when mixed with my SA Laser sets...
