Product Description
In Japanese, “Kihon” means “fundamental.” For everyday all-black denim, “fundamental” means a great fit, fade, and flexible look. Crafted by Naked & Famous and infused with Drop-exclusive designs, our Kihon jeans earn their name.
These are some solid pants. I purchased a weird guy size 29 and they fit pretty snug. Thought the stretch would kick in and it did a bit. Honestly, the tightest pants I own but I still love wearing these pants. Overtime the pants molds to your body so they are my go to at the moment. Nevertheless, after one wash the color did fade quickly but it adds character.
I've been hunting for a decent pair of black jeans for a long time and these fit the bill. As others have mentioned, there's not a lot of stretch, and that is fantastic for me as a skinny guy. I don't want stretch, I don't want baggy jeans, I want a clean slim cut and these fit the bill.
Great fit and accurate sizing. Don't expect these to stretch a lot, they don't, so make sure sizing and cut are good for you. The patch is slightly better than on other N&F Drop jeans but still not the best and I decided to remove it. More importantly, the fabric seems to be of slightly lower quality than on other N&F Drop jeans.
Great feel, decent fit, sized like levi's. Got them tapered and hemmed and happy as a clam. Not as much stretch as my levi's, but they stretch enough. Now if I could only watch my weight to keep fitting in em...
Pros: good fit, true to size, high quality construction and zipper.
Cons: no selvedge edge
Over all, I like them but was able to get more of the exact same pants twenty bucks cheaper on Nordstrom Rack. Nice pants but for the price, no selvedge, and delayed shipping time, minus 1 star.
These jeans have been fantastic. The coin pocket is deep enough to put my Leatherman in, the finish of the denim has a subtle sheen, and the stretch is just enough to accommodate weight variation without having to switch to another waist size. I really dig ‘em.
Background:
I purchased the Super Guy style.
This is my first pair of raw denim jeans and also the first product I have from Naked & Famous.
I tend to wear mostly skinny jeans (e.g.: Levi 510/511) and like darker colors, So I thought these would be a good pick for me.
I have read a bit about raw denim and thought it would be fun to go through the process of breaking in some jeans that might offer something of a unique style/feel over time.
Comfort:
The first few wears were honestly really uncomfortable.
The stiff material and scratchiness was almost literally grating.
After each wear, they grow slightly more comfortable and in no time, the scratchiness was all but gone.
There is a very small amount of stretch to these (2% elastane) but do not expect "stretch jeans".
It is really just enough to make the raw denim much more comfortable to break in than 100% cotton and also make it pliable enough to hug your body without needing to be as precisely tailored.
Fit:
If you follow the sizing chart, you will not be surprised with what you get.
The measurements were very accurate.
Do not take the advice of other people saying "buy +/- X sizes of what you normally wear".
Most manufactures cut and label things differently so arbitrarily going up or down a size from what you wear in another brand is just asking for trouble.
Take a measuring tape and either measure yourself or your best fitting jeans to find out what size you need.
Don't just measure the waist, take all the measurements so you can compare to the size charts and see if they are too big/small/disproportionate for what you need/want.
There are plenty of guides online on how to properly take these measurements and it only takes a couple minutes.
The front and back rise is much shorter than what I am typically used to, but I have quickly grown to like them.
I wish there were options for length.
Right now, I am rocking them with two folds (rolls) and they look pretty decent.
I might consider getting the tailored in the future, but I'm not sure.
Quality:
I am very happy with the material and the stitching.
I haven't found loose threads or crooked seams or anything weird.
They feel extremely durable and are likely to last many years, but I suppose only time will tell.
Overall:
I love these jeans!
They fit so well and definitely stand out both in my closet as well as on my person.
As long as you take proper measurements and make sure the fit is something you can enjoy, you will not be disappointed.
