I am using mine with a ps4 and am running into an issue where the people I am playing with complain that their own voices are echoing when I join the party. It is hard to trouble shoot since everything sounds normal on my end. I have tried reseating the cables connection to both the controller and the headset and the problem persists. I upped my in game microphone threshold to a point where I have to talk very loudly to trigger the microphone and it seemed to help but upon playing back a clip of our games I still heard the slight echo they complain of. I am not sure if it is a faulty headset or a faulty wire but I am hoping someone can help me troubleshoot and fix this issue.

Easy_TargetI also just discovered that when I have my controller connecting via the Micro USB cable the echo is really bad, when I connect them via blue tooth the echo doesn't seem to be an issue, or at least not as big of an issue.

Easy_TargetQuite a lot of sound bleeds out of open back headphones, so it's probably your mic picking that up. I have the same problem if I use my AKG-K7XX in zoom calls. Echo cancellation should ideally reduce it. Maybe when it's plugged in via micro usb it doesn't activate the echo cancellation?

internetpartyMicrophones part of headsets almost never pick up any headphone leakage, they’re physically designed not to while you’re wearing them. Vast majority of the time this is a software bug rather than a headphone issue, sometimes it’s a plug that isn’t always inserted all the way, and then a small fraction of a percent may have a defective cable. it can be tricky to plug into the headphone, which is why Sennheiser’s HD 500 series headphones like the HD 560S and HD 598 have a twist to lock feature to make sure it’s snuggly connected at the right spot). I would recommend checking if the issue still happens when recording to a PC or Smartphone, to see if the audio source is causing the issue. Also, test both cables to see if the issue persists, because if the problem is still there with both cables, then it’s not the cables causing it. Also test if the echo is the same whether or not the controller is connected with USB or not, like you already tested (PS4 controllers recharge but don’t act in a “wired” connection with PS4, but what is weird is you can use them USB wired to a PC). Personal experience, nobody can hear my game sound when I use my PC37X, PC38X, or GameZero. That’s why I use them on Zoom/Teams calls. However, my GameZero came with a defective console cable, which Sennheiser exchanged for me.
