Hey everyone! We're excited to launch the barebones version of our SENSE75 keyboard that debuted a little over a month ago.
In the time since launching the fully-assembled version, we have made a few substantial improvements to the keyboard platform as a whole, including a variety of sound-modifying features in the box (of both the fully-assembled and barebones offerings, including orders placed previously).
The following components will be included:
▪️ 2-millimeter-thick PE force-break points on each corner to absorb sound transfer between the top and bottom case.
▪️ A 3.5-millimeter-thick EVA foam layer between PCBA and switch plate.
▪️ Two layers of dampening between PCBA and bottom case: a 2-millimeter-thick layer and a 3-millimeter-thick layer, both made of polymer foam. This gives you the ability to “fill the space” for maximum dampening, or easily remove either layer for more gasket flex. The foam we’ve chosen is porous for good absorption and soft enough to allow gasket movement that’s even with all layers.
▪️ A pre-cut, fitted sheet of PCB tape in the box for those who want maximum sound dampening.
A full description of the changes can be found in the latest Studio Story.
And cutting to the chase, here are the updated sound test and assembly videos:
▪️ SENSE75 with Aqua King Linear Switches and FR4 plate▪️ Standard prebuilt SENSE75 with Holy Panda X and Aluminum plate▪️ New SENSE75 assembly video
We have a quick update to share regarding the SENSE75 keyboard.
The mechanical keyboard market has rapidly changed. When engaging in discussion with our community members, one of the points that prevented them from giving the SENSE75 a chance was the price. While the current pricing structure is directly related to the keyboard’s manufacturing and supply chain costs, we understand investing in premium keyboards is more challenging in the current high inflationary market conditions. Our goal has always been, and will be, to introduce mechanical keyboards (and audiophile-products) to new-to-hobby community members, and to provide new innovative—yet accessible—products to existing enthusiasts.
With that in mind, we have made a decision to adjust our price points to be more accessible. The new MSRPs are:
▪️ SENSE75 Barebones - Midnight $199
▪️ SENSE75 Barebones - Polar $229
▪️ SENSE75 Fully Built - Midnight $249
▪️ SENSE75 Fully Built - Polar $279
Customers who joined our first preorder run received a free MT3 keycap set, carrying case, and a novelty keycap as extra value. To further show our appreciation to the original preorder buyers (orders placed before November 14th, 2022 for fully built, and December 14th, 2022 for barebones), we will issue partial refunds to match the current new MSRPs. The final partial refund is determined based on the original package purchased, previous purchase price including other coupons and/or discounts. To receive your refund please submit a ticket and our Support will take care of it.
Hey Drop! My custom sense75 build has been working for a month, but the keys suddenly stopped registering after changing PCs. The LEDS on my SENSE75 keyboard are working as well as the lighting commands, but the keystrokes are not doing anything on windows. It shows up on Device Manager as a keyboard and I've tried these fixes to try to get it to work so far:
-Holding escape for 10 seconds while plugging the keyboard in (Resets LEDS after re-plugging)
-Trying both short and long presses of the hardware reset button (Short press works as intended, long press does nothing)
-Plugging the board into a few different computers to see if it works (It doesn't)
-Trying fn + backspace for half a second (Didn't do anything)
I've got to order a new USB-C cable since the one I was using failed after I did all these steps, but in the meantime does anyone have further ideas for troubleshooting?
I hope you restock this board as soon as possible! Can't wait to build my first custom keyboard. Already got the switches and keycaps, now i am just waiting for the board to restock.
Ok, I got my Sense75 its great. Except for 1 problem about once a day , sometimes when I turn my computer on sometimes when it sits for a while, the lighting starts flashing rapidly and the keyboard wont except any inputs. Do I have a bad pcb or is this software? Does anyone else have this problem? I am running the QMK XAP.
@JimmyC checking back - are your problems solved?
@aryo would you mind testing your keyboard by directly connecting it to your computer and see if the issue persists?
@peppertime are you connected via a hub or directly to your computer?
