To my 'untrained' ears, these headphones sounds amazing. I'm only just getting into the audiophile space, so I shan't comment further on the sound.
The firmware of the headphones is what single-handedly takes this review from 5 star to 1 star. My headphones are unusable (I am writing this review after successfully applying the firmware update). My issues:
Connected to my Windows laptop by Bluetooth, the audio cuts out for 5 - 20 seconds every few minutes, sometimes with the Pandas fully disconnecting and reconnecting
On occasion, the headphones will enter what I refer to as their 'vegetable' state. They will cut out and eventually disconnect from whatever you were connected to over Bluetooth. They will not shutdown, or do literally anything with the controls. You have to wait for the battery to die to then charge the headphones and be able to use them via Bluetooth again. You can use them wired at any point, but that's no real silver lining
Before the update, I also had issues with spontaneous disconnection, but I shan't put any emphasis there as the issue hasn't happened since the update
I'm not the only person experiencing these issues, you can see this in other reviews & discussions. Despite this, Drop support won't acknowledge there are any known consistent issues, and as an international customer I want to avoid replacing/refunding where at all possible, but following the long awaited (and continually delayed) firmware update, I have no 'last hope' to cling onto.
I would strongly advise against buying a pair of these headphones unless you are willing to run the gauntlet of the firmware issues. If you're heart set on them, buy them from Amazon so you can have a competent shipping and return policy.
