The Good: When this thing works the sound quality is great! It's especially good with music downloaded from your music library (AAC files).
The Bad: The 90 day "Master Quality" Tidal offer ($19.99/Mo) is invalid. The Echobox website no longer exist so no firmware updates! Tidal stopped working after owning the unit just two months. The included browser and the Play Store won't allow App downloads. I finally found an APK file library online (Uptodown) and was able to load updated versions of Tidal and Spotify. Tidal still seems unstable as it stops working every time Tidal launches an update and must be uninstalled and reinstalled with the newest version using Uptodown. I've just set Uptodown to install all app updates automatically so we'll see how this works. Wifi range is horrible. Download speed is horrible. Battery life and charge times are horrible. Basically, it's a $100 flask shaped dumpster fire!
The Ugly: I contacted Drop customer service to advise them of all of the above and I was basically read the T&C that any product that doesn't have an active manufacture's warranty only has a 30 day return policy. No offer of any type of credit for the $60 offer from Tidal that was invalid and advertised by Drop. My response to them....stop selling junk!
I_have_no_nameThe "Good" of my review was about nothing but sound quality and how good it is with AAC files (advance audio coding) which is not streaming ......when the DAP works! But...... this thing has more bugs than a junkyard dog and zero support now!
I_have_no_nameHere from my original review....since you're struggling.

BrightguyLol, so that is all? As I said, nothing much on sound and you're saying that it Doesn't work half the time because you can't use certain app stores though the product wasn't designed for it...what an odd complaint. The WiFi is bad but you're saying that it is complete garbage despite saying that it has good sound. It sounds as if it is completing it's main purpose just fine.
I_have_no_nameI'm sorry you find the review odd. I too find it odd you're such of a supporter of a product that's failed in the marketplace and the company that produced it no longer exist. Gee, I wonder why that happened? I hope yours continues to work for you. I'm done with this odd discussion with you.
AudiodiplomatI used Uptodown to download Tidal and it updates the firmware often. I use Uptodown for all the downloaded apps on the Echobox and have since quit Tidal and gone strictly with Spotify since I was running both platforms. The current APK version for Tidal on Uptodown is 2.33.6
