I have one of these. I'm not much of a top person, but I can't get this to spin very much and was disappointed. If you want to buy the top because it looks nice go right ahead, but if you want a top that spins for a long time there are better buys

I just wanted to add price comparisons from ForeverSpin's website, to help anyone who's tight on their budget.  The best deals here, including shipping prices from both sites, are the Damascus Steel (34% off), Spinning Base (28% off), Titanium (27% off), and Tungsten (25% off).  The rest are around 20%-23% off, and of course you would have to buy a Top to get the the Spinning Base. Top Metal Type___________Drop___Drop + Shipping/Tax*__ForeverSpin Retail** Stainless Steel Brushed____$30___________$34.63________$38 Stainless Steel Mirrored____$30___________$34.63________$38 Titanium__________________$34___________$38.88________$47 Damascus Steel___________$58___________$64.38________$98 Nickel____________________$54___________$60.13_________$78 Solid Silver________________$116__________$126.00_______$164 Tungsten_________________$135__________$146.19________$195 Spinning Base____________+$30__________$31.88_________$39 *All Prices/Shipping are USD/within the US. Tax is estimated. **ForeverSpin has free shipping for purchases over $69, otherwise it's another $6. I have never seen ForeverSpin have a sale, but I could be wrong on that. I own both a S.S. Mirrored-Finish top and a Titanium one, along with a Spinning Base.  The Titanium is by far my favorite.  I find the Mirrored one a little more difficult to grip and spin, so my best spin times for both are about the same (3-ish mins). The heavier the top is, the longer it will spin for, but it makes it harder to spin too, so keep that in mind.  I hope this post helps!

Just want to say that these guys had a group buy with random upgrades based on the amount of people who ordered. They just went and cancelled with no reason. Will not purchase from these vendors again.

MillertimeThat’s how mass drop works. Often the discount is based on a certain volume so if they don’t get enough to participate, the drop never happens.

For a point of comparison, I have the "LAMBDA TWO PIECE (ALUMINUM & BRASS)" from this company: https://darksucks.com/collections/lamda-spin-tops Currently it sells for $125 but I got back when it was $65. When I spin it on a concave glass platform I get 18-20 min of spin time. I've seen other companies with similar tops that are closer to the $80 range. If a $58 top gets you 2.5-3 minutes of spin, you may want to consider a different one.

So for sh*t$ and giggles, I ordered a brass one of these a few weeks ago on their site because MD didn't offer the brass and because they were offering free gifts along with the order (A purple aluminum top as well as a mystery gift). And I gotta say, these tops suck! They don't spin very well at all. Neither of them are very well balanced, the brass one is just too heavy to do much of anything, and I can't get either of them to spin without having to trying a few times. Now I'm no professional top spinner by any means, so maybe I just don't have the skills required to spin a top properly, but I did buy a custom made top on the RPF with this design years ago for my wife (for a little more than what I paid for this brass one). This was back when Inception first came out, and artists where making these things in their garages for fun. That top spins like a dream! (see what I did there :P) Balance was perfect and spun for ages! Was I wrong to assume that (semi) mass produced, machine made tops at around the same price point would spin just as well, if not better than one that was cranked out by some random dude that had never made a top before the batch that I bought from??? Lame. *I will say: Their packaging is pretty amazing. They must spend half the money they make on packaging alone. Quite impressive. I doubt you will get all the flare if you ordered from here tho...

eneroIf your top is actually unbalanced, I would reach out to their customer service, they really do stick with their values of quality and precision. Also it takes a while to get used to spinning it, like I've had a stainless mirrored one for about 2 years and I still screw up probably 6 out of 10 spins (going for power :p). Try to be firm but not like, powerful, when spinning it. Also, the lighter the top is the less time it will spin for (less angular momentum to keep it going). The brass one, 30 grams, is a bit weighty and will take some practice, but you should be able to get about 2.5-3 minutes of spin out of it on a very smooth surface, or more if you're really good. Hope this helps!

Oh oh—looks like Tommy's dad needed a new top more than little Tommy needed lunch money this week—not again?!
