the only thing holding me back is whether or not this works with the new Gsynch potential... can we get an answer here?
has anyone tested this monitor?
inquiring minds want to know!
rubixsjungleI have the monitor, even though it doesn't show I'm a verified buyer.
Enabling G-sync compatibility does work, but in some games the monitor will glitch out, displaying white noise and can occasionally flicker.
This is mostly due to unstable framerate.
I'm hoping Nvidia can fix the issue and make every monitor compatible.
yea i've just seen testing on monitor that didnt quite make the cut leading to flickering and stutter...
thats why i was asking if anyone has tested. thanks @Mirlo you got my question answered.
Just to chime in, MP regularly has sales on their copy of this monitor, you get the warranty and return guarantees, and can often stack promos through their e-Bay store. Snagged mine for $360 back in August, but if you don't want to wait for the perfect storm, this monitor is quite good for the price. You might get one with some excessive light bleed in one corner or another, but there's generally no issue with it in daily use (and if you do, MP will exchange if you go that route).
Mainly because I read the warranties for the product I have and typically rely on what they say instead of a Google search. If you'd like to show where it voids the warranty for this display as offered by other brands, feel free.
MilktoastI picked up the monoprice version a few months ago... Runs perfect at 120hz and looks extremely good. No issues playing any game.. other than fallout 76 which doesn't support Ultrawide haha (so have to play with black borders). Great panel.
lazy784Amazon.ca lists the same product with the same model number as 120Hz. The one I linked lists it as "100Hz (120Hz Boost Clock nVIDIA only with DP)". So it's only 120Hz with nvidia GPUs? First time I've ever heard of a limitation like that.
There's also 2 model numbers, GS35UCR and GS35CR, which appear to describe the exact same model on different websites.
Whatever's going on with this monitor, it's sketchy af.
WhiteGraveyAt least this one ships internationally. And according to specs it seems to be a bit better (100 vs 120Hz), but can't tell for sure since I don't own any of them ... for now.
WhiteGraveyI like your strategy. You can always put the one you don't like on Craig's list. The GS35UCR and Vest use the same panel (I think), but in different tooling, since they are from different manufacturer. The GS35UCR panel model is AUO M350QVR01.1. You can check what's the panel used in the Vast.
Expect poor color accuracy and ghosting when playing some fast paced games. For the price it's not bad if you really want a curved ultrawide. I'm also concerned with QC and CS.
I have this monitor. That is not the remote on the back. Those are the buttons which are a PITA to use IMO. The remote is separate, and makes it soooo much easier to navigate the menus. It is not magnetic tho. The remote has buttons for power, source, mute, scale (aspect ratio), 4-way navigation/volume up and down, menu, exit, picture mode, blue level filter, and sleep mode. It's a great remote. I don't use the buttons on the back at all.
Xury46I have the monitor paired with a 1080.
You'll see some glitchy white noise and flickering at times when enabling g-sync compatibility in some games.
This often happens when the framerate is unstable.
I hope this helps.
