Product Description
Gateron Ink switches are so named for their smokey, transparent housing and black ink-like spring to match—but they're much more than just looks. These linear switches feature 4 millimeters of total travel with a satisfying 60-gram actuation and 70-gram bottom out Read More

Hey all! We are pleased to be working with Gateron on their newest switch - The Ink Series. These switches are super smooth, and have a pretty awesome black coated spring on the inside. Currently the estimated ship time is for September, but we will do everything we can do get these shipped out as soon as possible. Thanks for reading, and I hope that we were able to get some savings on this switch passed along for you! Updates: June 17, 2019 - We were actually able to get the order in a lot sooner than expected. These will start shipping out this week! June 19, 2019 - All order shipped. Drop complete.

mgsicklerStickied to the top. Hey Mike, could we get a sound difference video?
erickongThanks! I will try to get a small sound video going tomorrow for this.
For the girls & boys in Europe probably cheaper to buy from mykeyboard.eu (in stock at the moment of writing this).
You need to add the import tax which for 60-100USD is around 20-25 USD (yeah expensive) and the time wait, delays that MD is sadly sometimes know for, making more attractive for Europeans buying from the given source. But anyone is free to compare, research and take their own decision. Cheers!

atari.super.nesYes, the import tax is a valid point. I forgot that the sum oversteps the EU tax free limit which is between 10 and 22 EUR. It is 22 in my country (was 150 before the EU directive took place).

Anyone knows how these compare to Tealios?

Lubing switches really isn't much of a repeated process

Luna55I find Inks slightly smoother than Tealios. The Ink springs are extremely quiet, no crunch what so ever.

Are these hot swappables?
I wanted to join that Kickstarter, but I convinced myself I didn't need another 40%

Silly question, but how much is the sound different between standard and silent?

Sakurios - or healios, they're not clones they're just healios with a pink stem for a "Valentine's day" special and as such were given a different name - are silent tealios. Much like silent inks are, well, silenced ink switches. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85ZehAdklps Here is a comparison between tealios and healios, bear in mind this is a fairly crude sound test and both boards are lubed (with what sounds like a pretty thick coat 205g0 or similar, as per the sound signatures). Inks sound different from tealios so I'm sure silent inks sound different from healios but the point is what you can expect a silent variant of a switch to sound like compared to the regular one.

What's special about these switches? In other words, why should I get them? What's the selling point?

How would this compare with Kailh Silver?

_rayGateron Inks are much smoother, and the sound is also subjectively more satisfying

I love the Aliaz switches and would have settled on a full board, but of the 10 I bought, they just wouldn't sit on the keyboard reliably...kept popping out as I typed every to often.

How about some photos of the internals? I thought that was standard fare for keyswitch drops.

Surprisingly cheap. Ink switches went from $7.50 for 10 on novelkeys when they had them in stock

I have a Whitefox mechanical keyboard with gateron clears and a Varmilo VB87M Bluetooth mechanical keyboard with gateron clears. If I get these gateron ink switches, could I swap the switches out on either of these keyboards? The whitefox I haven't assembled yet. I would like to get these and use these switches. That should be ok yes?

Awesome, thanks! What about the Varmilo ?

krohmI'm not familiar with Varmilo, but typically, if you desolder the switches that come with the board, you'll be able to solder these switches on there as well. If the PCB doesn't support PCB mount switches, just snip off the two plastic legs on the bottom housing, and it'll work. So short answer is yes, it will work with Varmilo as well, pending some very minor modifications.
