IDeeDitSecond day and it's still not working. It works on my laptop but not on my desktop now.
I tried different usb ports and I don't know what to do anymore.
has anyone figured out how to use the macro editor yet?
I've got it to record with min or timed or defined delay, but I can't figure out how to edit yet. the pencil, up, down, trash and + buttons don't seem to do anything.
Just got mine, haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet and can't say if it's worth it. It looks like pressing the '6+' key and 'Z' turns off Bluetooth so it'll be recognized as a wired keyboard. After a little searching (and Google Translate) I found the manual, which, y'know, seems pretty essential, but because the link is partially in Chinese, it can't be posted as a link.
Manual is the bottom option of this page
zhipengYou know that isn't the link to the manual, right? Whatever point you're trying to make here, it's just supporting my statement that the necessary information to operate this keyboard is stupidly difficult to find.
zhipengAre you associated with the seller/ website? I'm trying to buy the blue switches, but stalled in transaction "waiting for supplier to send contract"
The ergonomics are decent. The split spacebar looks cool, and is tilted at a comfortable angle so my thumb is hitting the center and not the edge of the key.
As another user pointed out, there is a very, very annoying wobble to the keyboard. Any time I need to hit backspace (somewhat often so far on this keyboard), the board wobbles. It is quite noticeable and makes typing honestly fairly unpleasant.
The software is also annoying to deal with. Even after selecting English during the install, most of the UI is still in Chinese. I don't think that makes much sense, and even after messing with it a bit, it is quite difficult to do anything more than very simple tasks (some of which are thankfully in English).
The keycap change is a serious bummer. I might have opted out had I known it was changing before the drop ended, but I didn't get much time to respond to it. The caps look extremely cluttered and busy, and it makes for a bit of an eyesore if you have to find any of the secondary functions. On top of that, the LEDs that are supposed to illuminate through the cap on top and bottom barely even touch the bottom. There might as well have been no dual LED for these caps.
Having the keyboard for less than 24h, there isn't much more to say at this time, but I am sure that will change soon as I keep using it.
Just got mine today. I like the build as well as ergonomy. Instruction/manual need improvement/to be developed as well as software. Similar keyboards are much more expensive here on massdrop. But the manual/sw needs to be fixed.
Thus far I'm EXTREMELY disappointed with this keyboard. I received mine yesterday and here are the major reasons why I would have stayed away had I known all of this before ordering.
Keyboard starts in bluetooth 1 mode even if you plug it in straight to a PC, meaning you have to disable bluetooth every time you turn on your computer or replug the keyboard.
Manual is not very intuitive and a huge chunk of the configuration software is in Chinese. All of the files/configuration names are in Chinese so its literally trial and error figuring out what things do.
Keyboard switches are OPTICAL, so sure, they are hotswap, but not compatible with typical Cherry MX style switches. So for a majority of us, the hotswap capabilities will probably be unused.
The redesign of the keycaps was a major annoyance. I was willing to look past it until I figured out all these other drawbacks. The side printed secondary functions looked great, but now the keycaps look cluttered.
Secondary function on keycaps has practically no back lighting, see next point for explanation.
You know how there are pictures showing off how the main legend LED is one color but the secondary function (like the F1, F2, etc) are a different LED color? Well, you cant ACTUALLY SEE IT! The LED's are mounted on the PCB, and I have visually confirmed that each key has two LEDs, however, the switches that are included with the keyboard are SOLID BLACK body so the bottom LED is literally useless. The only switch that has a completely clear body is the Fn/6+ key which is why you'll see it dual color. This means that you need OPTICAL switches with COMPLETELY CLEAR housing to take advantage of the dual LED design. This is an enormous fail in my opinion, and I can't imagine how this was overlooked or blatantly ignored. See what I mean: https://imgur.com/a/350svEQ . You can't see the bottom green half on any keycap because the bottom half of the switch housing is solid black instead of being clear.
Fourth image in the massdrop marketing for this keyboard clearly shows switches that are completely transparent. The switches I received were not. False advertisement? Can I get the switches that were actually advertised or a refund?
If I would have known all these short comings of this keyboard, I would have cancelled my order. Extremely unpolished and clearly lacking foresight with the dual-LED design.
acEclipseWhen we bought these, did they say "only red/blue switches will be dual led pipe?" I bought brown and disappointed with the single pipe on top of switch (to say the least)...
jmbrabenNope, there was zero mention about any switches being completely clear or incompatible with the dual LED design. Hell, there was no mention about them being optical. Definitely feeling cheated.
Huh. I was not expecting optical switches.
Mine arrived yesterday, and this seems to be the current "driver" (programming software) the "English" version of the software is mostly in Chinese. The software does something, as the keyboard no longer looks like a christmas tree on acid and there seems to be an underglow that barely peeks out of the opaque case along the plate edge. As to what setting I've changed, I'm not sure, my Chinese is pretty rudimentary. It doesn't seem to function as a keyboard on the system it's plugged into for programming, but that may just be a setting.
There are a few extra (a seemingly random assortment) optical switches in the box along with a few alternate caps. I'm not impressed at all with the revised keycaps. They feel
The "6t" space key is the "FN" or "Fn" key depending on where you look in the english manual.
First impression, disappointed - if i want to hot swap switches, I need to buy optical switches, I can't use it to test out more common switches, it's going to be a pain to translate enough of the programming software to be able to use it, and I can't break it in at the office as my workstation doesn't have bluetooth. That said, it might prove to be awesome, if I can get the logo LED to stop trying to give me a seizure.
