toanqcCall me a keyboard you want to buy and i'll tell you if this keyset fits it. Keep in mind most gaming brands like Corsair and Razer use unusual spacebar sizes which are not inlcuded in this keyset. I recomend you to look for new cm series or ducky shine series keyboards. If you are about aesthetic then filco.

toanqcMine will be used with a black Realforce 87u with cherry sliders.
Regarding your question you should try as many different mks as possible at friends, mall, meetups ... . You've to decide which switch you prefer for your first one, don't settle without trying, don't listen to others, it's a personal decision, my dream might be your nightmare. A budget to know would be nice then, programmability ... is needed or not. What do you find pleasing your eyes in style, color ... https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/ for looking. So many variables, the more infotmation you can give what you want or not, the better the given ideas should be.
Have fun, your journey has just begun, someone buying keycaps first without having a mk, please let me know in two or three years how many mks you possess :)

T0mb3ryI've never tried anything before actually :D. Just starting to look at the WSAD code and Filco Majestouch 2 with blue switch.

toanqcA Varmilo could be a good alternative/option too. This GMK set will be the endgame for my Varmilo VA87M with MX clear switches

toanqcIf you like a full keyboard, with number pad and volume control, I think the 'Das Keyboard Model S Professional' is the best of the best.. I like clicky sounds, so I own the cherry blue switches model, but they have brown switches for the silent types.. "Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional 2" is better for a smaller workspace. Simple, compact layout.. Just my opinion.. Sure others can suggest more options.. Good luck...

toanqcYou can go with WASD and Filco Majestouch without worries, since these boards have standard layout and the base set covers it.

Makamidid you harvest all those cherry sliders from poor Novatouches? lol
jokes aside, I'm using a Novatouch myself with Granite R4 and will switch out to "Carbon"touch when I receive this set. btw what do you think is better for topre-mx compatible, GMK or SP SA?

eapdangThose poor Novatouches have to rest in peace now.
SA sounds and feels good for me, but having in mind that i just sold my SA sets, sticking to Cherry profile and DSA, the answer should be clear regarding my taste, which doesn't have to match yours.
