We have some good news to share with everyone. Our vendor has been working closely with the factory to ensure that production goes smoothly. They expect to be able to ship our bulk order on 9/18, and transit time from their location typically takes about a week. We are currently right on schedule and are aiming to ship everything out of our warehouse by the estimated ship date of 9/28.
Expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 9/21 or sooner if something comes up.
Thanks again for joining this drop! With your help we were able to make it successful for the community. We've just submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Gold Color Zinc Spacebar and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where we'll break it up into individual orders and ship them directly to you! The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 9/28.
Rest assured that we will provide you all with updated information regarding the status of your order throughout the process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 9/14.
Will do. I might be experimenting with some things in the coming time. Maybe even just try some rubbing alcohol and paper towel and see if it's any sort of coating that I can easily take off.
Just a thought, but as MX greens aren't the most common switch, you could include or give the option to include a heavier spring from a green or grey switch, for those who have lighter switches, to swap out.
MontoniVery much so. I got back from vacation this past Sunday and immediately put the spacebar on my keyboard, and even the first night I used it the gold started to rub off. It's now Tuesday, and almost half the gold coating is off the spacebar, leaving a slightly-less-attractive Silver.
I'm not necessarily disappointed, simply because I think a silver metal spacebar will look as attractive as a gold one, but I do have to either commit to finding a way to take all of the gold off in one fell swoop (probably by submerging it in something that will speed up the oxidation) or just waiting until my finger oils make the spacebar silver.
So far, this has only happened where my fingers tend to rest, leaving big splotches of gold still leftover which really isn't that attractive.
